He should be punished just for having that mate of his who pulls odd faces & almost tries to pout on his videos - the one who was literally almost in tears & had a massive girly strop in the playoff semi 2nd leg just because he'd heard Gus' goal being scored from another room & their watchalong stream was a few minutes behind - made himself look stupid
No suprise Baldy is bitter and green with envy and manages to slip in mysogistic comments yet again. He's just having a go at something he loves and its harmless. Clearly you watch and enjoy a lot of his content.... think we can all guess the main reason why.

apparently the vast majority of youtube demonitisation is automated. If he has not done so already Matt needs to appeal for a "human reviewer". They will then manually go through the content that was flagged by the computer algorithm to see if it was "misleading" or not.

my kids and I are big fans of the content matt and his team put out, i really hope for their sake and ours this can be resolved

My guess would be the three previous vids about bookies predictions in the title if you’re putting ads on YouTube you don’t want to be associated with gambling, and I’d imagine he has put himself as child friendly to get a higher ad revenue

if that is the case i would hope he can remove those videos and carry on. otherwise might have to pile into sophies channel even though in her picture she looks like she is recruiting for scientology

I hope he gets it sorted.

Don't youtube normally give the user 'strike' marks as a warning before demonetizing a channel? Seems harsh to do this without any prior warning.

Maybe he used some trigger words, like "I actually quite like Leicester" or something.

I would definitely demonetise him for that alone.

I just watched a chunk of the prediction/bookies thread. Can't believe it's that, because he does keep saying it's not his opinion. Didn't watch it all though.

YT works on an algorithms and is well known for being a difficult system for content creators, a lot of the warnings are issued from the algorithms, there is an appeal system in place where the restrictions or warnings can be contested with a team that will look at the content and review each case.

If you are a big channel you get a rep, but I can't imagine that MattSB is, could be wrong.

If they are being cancelled, and it's been appeal through the process, but been upheld, there must be a reason for it.

Would misleading content not be due to the watchalong livestreams where he titles the videos as match highlights, with sky sports graphics? However, I very much doubt he would not receive any warning or a channel strike before getting the entire channel demonetised.

Strikes are for copyright infringement i think. Not 100%.

I have watched quite a bit of what he has produced, everything of course not and was very surprised to see this, about as harmless as you can get. Saying that I am not surprised.

I realise he thought he would be safe but should have a back up plan, he sold his soul to the Devil and was always at risk. Currently watching Benjamin Bloom, like his shows and he is also at risk.

I have seen channels demonetised who have had a more obvious profile at risk, some big ones. Now the big ones have a chance as obviously they make money for YT. I seriously doubt something this small attracts human intervention but can live in hope.

There are alternates but effectively YT is a monopoly and that is the problem.

YT is obviously focussing on the big Corporations so I assume he said something to upset them but what who knows. Or it is an automated process, I have used English phrases on non UK sites and had the word blocked, fag for cigarette for example.

In other words "support local business" can f*ck off
Not at all. He says in the video that he turned content creation from a hobby into his job (actually a self employed business with all the benefits of it). If this is now his business then he needs to look at all the other platforms that he can earn money from, advertisement, affiliations, merchandise, collaborations, other subjects etc etc. No different to any other business that needs to work on its growth, and the fact he's left himself solely reliant on YouTube is a mistake for him to rectify.

You can get community guidelines strikes (from YouTube), and copyright strikes (from whoever owns the copyright, not YouTube)

Copyright strikes are different from Content ID claims, which just means the copyright owner makes any money from that video, or they block it in certain locations, but as they haven't requested the removal of the copyrighted content it doesn't affect your account (That's why copyrighted music is still often used on youtube)

3 copyright strikes lead to the termination of your account

However, Matt would have infringed YouTube community guidelines, which include "Spam and Deceptive Practices", which I assume YouTube found the livestreams to be under:
  • Misleading metadata or thumbnails: Using the title, thumbnails or description to trick users into believing that the content is something it is not.
However similarly to copyright strikes, you still need 3 within a 90 day period in order for your channel to be terminated

One strike may lead to the loss of accessing "advanced features" which includes monetisation, however, they should be restored within a week.

A second strike within the same 90 days leads to the loss of multiple YouTube features for 2 weeks.

Feel very sorry for Matt, having lived in S.E. Asia these past 4 years , I expect like many Sky Blue expats I have found his videos a great source in keeping a closer connection to our team. In all his videos I have never heard anything remotely political or racist or sexist, or anything remotely controversial.
And if it were for spreading so called misinformation or what they so like to call fake news, then virtually every government worldwide, the MSM, Sky BBC, ITV et al should be banned as well.
