I think we are conflating too many things here.

When I voted on the question should Robins have been sacked I voted NO. I would not have because he was great when we had little resource and he took us from the abyss to where we are now and as such we owe him a great debt. I know this View for me was based on loyalty and sentimentality. But hand on heart do I think he would Have been able to follow this trajectory for the next 7 years, Probably not. Do I think the debt we owe him means he stays as manager here indefinitely, absolutely not. Do I feel we may get a manager that takes us to the next level, I think there is a pretty good chance.

Voting to say you wouldn’t have sacked Robins is not the same as saying you think form over the last 6 months is acceptable. Sometimes very difficult decisions have to be made and those with loyalty and sentimentality are not always the best to do this. Business man Doug does not suffer from these traits and will just do what he thinks is best.

Will we be the better for it? Only time will tell, but I think there is a reasonable chance.

Don't bother asking him any questions, someone just fill the c**t in before it starts.

Hahaha Pete please insist on talking about the queues for the toilets or something while everyone tries to ask King about the manager.

Be interesting to know if the snake is actually surprised by the reaction to his decision or if he was expecting it. I'm sure he'll spin it to say that he knew the strength of the feeling but it was a decision made with a heavy heart for the benefit of all in the future and that he's planned for all eventualities. I doubt he'd say, 'yeah I think I've dropped a clanger' but might still be nice to hear a response to it.

I kind of get why it has been slightly controlled else it will just turn into a baying mob frothing at the mouth and we won't actually get to hear what the owner has to say
He probably needs that reaction to realise. with everyone having been briefed to told what they can say and when in a sanitised environment, he simply wont get it.

He hasn’t made the decision on a whim. Let’s be honest, if our form over the last 30 games was with any other manager, we’d have been calling for him to be sacked before he was.

Doug King has made a decision, it’s not one I would’ve made but we have to be open to the possibility that it was for the best. He isn’t shackled by sentiment in the way most of us are.

I trusted Robins on the basis that he had turned things around in 2017/18, 2019/2020 and 2022/23. We have to be honest that past performance is not a guarantee of future performance. I don’t think in his 7 years, we had a ‘rot’ of around 30 games, it’s usually been half that.
