This is just going to divide the fan base even more, some are just going to call him out no matter what he said, and others will no doubt reluctantly accept that a break down of the back room staff resulted in poor results and a parting of the manager.

His first words basically took the wind out of some people's sails and very few knew that MR got AV sacked.

Jumping in here, I have not read other posts. I thought Dean Austen came across well, but for the first time I thought King was all over the place. Seemed very nervous?

Doug is pinning this heavily on the quality or lack thereof of coaching, and thinks the squad is in brilliant shape. I think the coaching is an issue, but there is a huge problem with a lack of leadership among those players that is painfully obvious and it results from a heavy focus on developing prospects for profit.

I won't lie, some of the things he said were really interesting to me and I hope they make people pause and consider things from a slightly different perspective.

Said he couldn't ignore that he'd brought a lot of players in on long contracts with promises made about the club etc. and that he has to consider them in all of this.

Sounds like something weird was going on with trying to get an AV replacement in. Felt like DK wanted to say more but held back, let people see if they can join the dots.

Even saying DK makes me cringe.

Will have to listen again about what he said about the interviews and stuff.

So if we are to take everything at face value then the problems started when adi viveash and Mark robins relationship broke down .

Fair enough , I don't trust doug king one bit and I think he's cares very much that people think highly of him .

I thank Mark for everything he's done,he's one of our greatest .

McSheffery made it very clear in August that Robins struggled in the past without a good number 2 and I think it's extremely clear that has happened.

He's the best manager we've ever had but tactically we've been poor this season and since the FA Cup semi final.

We have been so, so bad this season and I think some people have forgotten it.

Right then, the conspiracy theorists can take their tin foil hats off now.

Unless Doug King told barefaced lies, MR a) had final day on all signings and b) chose the coaching setup. Which is what common sense told us all.

AV and MR had a falling out for whatever reason and the failure to adequately replace AV led to MR’s downfall because it was felt that the current coaches were not elite coaches.

I’m glad that DK called out the sexist narratives around Dr Roberts her remit is not ‘team performances’, it’s things like nutrition, S&C and lifestyle choices (sleep) to support player performances.

Like him or loathe him, you’ve got to respect King for facing the music in public to talk through his thought processes. There were some people in the audience that were quite arsey too.

He focused a lot on tactics etc.

Did I hear it right that it was actually someone's marital problems or something around that between Robins and Ady?
I thought that but had some background noise so wasnt sure. It may have been an analogy as i don’t think he would bring that up surely.
