The equivalent today would be something like Eastleigh beating Villa. That would be a much bigger shock than Maidstone winning at Ipswich.
It is so hard to judge. The difference between the PL and the championship, l1& l2 is so big now because of all the money it could be argued that Villa losing to a l2 team is as big.

It was a shock to me and I’ve seen a few, Sutton, Northampton, Cambridge, Rochdale, Walsall , Hereford, Worcester 🤦‍♂️

We have been the victims of giant killings loads of times in both the league cup & FA cup from Tranmere in 1968 to Wimbledon this year, I bet there aren’t many if any with a worst record.
We even lost to at the time lowly Reading in the semi-final of the Simod cup to deny us a rare trip to Wembley.

In modern times while the gap wasn’t the biggest, Bradford beating Chelsea 4-2 away, from 2 goals down was an enormous shock. Chelsea had close to a full strength team as well.

With the belief and togetherness our team has now along with better players there will be no upset if we beat Sheff Wed.

Don't forget Kings Lynn in 1961 which prompted a certain managerial appointment.
Although to be fair we were third division at the time.

Beat me to it! Correct - THAT was the game that finally put Sutton to bed.
Altho I remember Stevenage scaring the life out of Newcastle in the late 1990's.
Remember Woking scaring us half to death. Always remember that bizarrely not finishing until the 5th round draw was made.

think the first game was called off due to bad weather twice , then we drew at home when everyone played their 4th round matches.

We've not even beaten Wednesday yet and so I'm getting a bit ahead of myself, particularly as they've already beaten Ipswich at PR, however ... on any normal day, professionals at this level should be able to beat them and our squad should still sll consider themselves above level 6, so is there room for sentiment? It's not normally the Robins way, but people like Fadz and Kelly deserve at least a cameo send off imo so should we start them?

No

Start out as strong as possible, get it wrapped up and then bring them on for a farewell cameo.

No - so these 2 would start just for sentimental reasons plus both sets of fans spend 90 minutes hugging each other after their fans all got in for a pound plus they get all the gate receipts as well as a 2 goal start?

Seeing how direct Maidstone are and they look to have pacy players, I just can’t see how playing McFadz would be a good idea.

A sub appearance after if we were comfortably ahead, sure.
