Not sure why some get so upset about losing a pre season friendly? You learn far more from a defeat than you do from winning easily.

He says ‘chem-trailing’, but it’s a vague and conspiratorial term that doesn’t cover such practices as geo-engineering and cloud seeding, which are established practises of government agencies.

You can even hire out a ‘cloud-seeder’ for special occasions apparently, it’s very much commercialised.

Like if we're not at full strength then we aren't that good.

Looking at our squad we are still very much wanting.

Injuries are concerning particularly Sheaf and Torp-again and again they're on the treatment table -regularly.

But what do I know apart from Jack Shit!

But we know the squad is short and efforts are being made to add to iti. The window doesn't close until the end of August. Sheaf will be fine. You will never have like for like replacements for your best players, like Sheaf at a club like Coventry.

Torp is a worry as he is turning into a bit of a sick note and not establishing himself at the club. Has showed glimpses of good play while not having much pace. Perhaps to level is too high for him? Not every transfer comes off.

So have we all agreed on Torp as this seasons player we hate for no reason

No, but he has yet to establish himself at the club. It's a big season for him. No one wants him to fail. But showing glimpses of potential isn't enough.

At the minute he is struggling to make training let alone the bench or the first team.

says the man who posts 3 different replies with no actual football talk just insults

many on here make themselves look rather silly without actually knowing it
I talk about football with people that don’t pretend to ‘ITK’ on everything. You have no credibility

I agree, and the potential he has is immense - I rate him very highly, personally, and have a soft spot for technical midfielders who have great vision and can score from distance.

It’s just that this obvious potential contribution is being hampered by niggly injuries (adjustments and transition to English football etc), and the overall feeling is one of ‘can he cope with the rigours of the Championship’.

Pointing out salient facts like this can often be misinterpreted as being hateful, or worse, which I find baffling. Reality is reality, and if he doesn’t find his feet with us, it’ll be a tremendous shame.

I really want Torp to succeed here with us.

Just occasionally we sign someone who shows great potential and for all sorts of reasons fail to achieve.

One such signing for me was Runar Normann, I hope Torp doesn't go the same way.

Yes and I previously listed what I think are his strengths, running intelligently with the ball, protecting the ball, good range of passing, good on the ball in tight situations and listed a couple of weaknesses.

But some people on here seem to think it either has to be love or hate with players and cherry pick what suits their argument. All players have strengths and weaknesses

Some also seem to struggle with the concept that players can develop and improve from one season to the next.

He's right, I do aircraft fuelling as part of my job, and have to add the mind control chemicals everytime, right pain in the arse.

Have to get the right amounts in every time, overdid it by just 10ml in 2016 and we ended up with Brexit.

Got a written warning for that one.

I've just clicked on this thread at a random point, I have no bloody clue what's going on!

Just seen the film Twisters at the cinema. Not sure how they made all those tornadoes just for the movie, maybe some merit in this after all?
