The problem isnt the religion, it is the way that men ( and it is almost exclusively men) interpret and twist things in a way that was never part of any religion’s philosophy. As far as I aware most world religions would have a creed of kindness, tolerance and respect for others.
Men wrote the religious scriptures for men.

I am not a theologian but I find it insanely sad that most major religions believe in the concept of a god but some will kill each other while arguing over how we get there.

That comment couldn’t be further from the truth. Islam is a peaceful religion interpreted in different ways just like any other. As said above me it’s men that do things in the name of religion but scratch the surface evil is in all societies, just that this particular issue is Muslim and Jewish. Having lived amongst them for 8 years we would be a much kinder society if we lived by their rules.
