Yes!! I don't even bother getting him a ticket some of the time....just carry him in....we're 3 rows from the top of block 14 and there's 8 of us 2 rows of 4. He stands on the seat in between us and leans on the railings with his ear defenders on....he loves it but after 70mins it's a challenge atm keeping his focus on the game...he loves the singing and the drum!!You've got a 5-year-old in Singers Corner LOL
Same for me mate. Would head to Kenilworth first to see my mum then off into Cov. Its a long day even for me.Yeah likewise. It'll be about 2.5hrs from Pompey to Kenilworth to some of my step-dads family, then to the Arena, then another 3-3.5hrs back to Pompey.
I suspect he'll be asleep by the time we get home!

No, you'll be fine. I manage to drive the 5/6 hours each way ok and my 19 year old son manages to sleep for most of it. I just wish he'd take his driving test so he could help with the driving.I'll be in my mid-late 50s. I might be asleep before I've driven half a mile!
Hmmmm, don't botherSo along with my stepdad, I'm taking my son to his first ever match, to the Cardiff game. He's just turned 6 so I hope his attention span holds out!
Question re:tickets - does he need a JSB membership so we can sit it the family zone? Is there a family zone? I've sat all over the ground previously and never had to worry about kids tickets so not sure on the best place to take him in the ground.
Obvs not singers corner but advice appreciated on best part of the ground for a 6yr old for his first game.

Good on you mate. He'll remember this forever, irrespective of whether we win or lose, and he'll remind you of it in years to come. It's a win win situation all round. Brilliant. So along with my stepdad, I'm taking my son to his first ever match, to the Cardiff game. He's just turned 6 so I hope his attention span holds out!

Good luck to us!I’m taking my youngest who’s seven for his first game to the Cardiff match as well. His older brother can’t come so he’s taking his ST, he might not give it back!!!
I’m more worried about the rain!!! Already had to run for cover once this season!!!Get him some electric hand warmers or something as well. Will be bloody freezing!
Glad you got that photo - it is amazing for kids when they get that first view from going up the steps....I think we all forget that magical first glimpse of the hallowed turf.So...a day of contrasting emotions!
Let's get the bad stuff out of the way first. Bar the first 20 mins, what a dreadful performance. Van Ewijk was so bad, Sheaf pretty anonymous...in fact, across the pitch, we were woeful. No blame on Lampard...he's been in the door two minutes. Plenty to work on.
I still have faith. Sheaf looked like prime Xavi just over 6 months ago vs Wolves. We've got good players...they just need to play like good players.
Onto the better stuff.
Yesterday was a proper proud dad day for me. I took on a lot of advice from you guys and it was a success! After picking up family in Kenilworth, we got to the stadium later than planned so missed the family zone.
But I took my boy to the superstore and bought him a retro cushion, a blue toy Dino and a keyring. We said we'd name the Dino after our first scorer but he wasn't keen on Ephron! So after calling him Mason for over an hour, he decided he wanted to call him Frank!
I've got the best picture of his little face smiling at the top of the stairs as he entered the bowl. My favourite picture ever.
I won't lie, I got emotional at one point. When WLADITT was playing and they turn the music off and the crowd sign on our own, I hugged my boy and just came over all emotional for some reason.
He said he'd go back (brave lad) so I'll probably bring him back in the Spring but he said he enjoyed it.
Happy days on that front yesterday.
I remember the first time I saw the hallowed turf of Highfield Rd and wanted to capture little man's first view. MagicGlad you got that photo - it is amazing for kids when they get that first view from going up the steps....I think we all forget that magical first glimpse of the hallowed turf.
