Tatics at home (1 Viewer)

In general there seems to be a pattern at home we seem to huff and puff a and really struggle against poor sides and have scraped past most of the poor sides by the odd goal and even losing to tranmere and drawing yesterday with Mk Dons - We are so good away scoring for fun and then we play at home and suddenly the goals dry up when you might be expecting a goal feast. Fans myself included tghink we should batter these bottomm six poor sides as they are truly woeful - Robins needs to change the tactis at home

The thread is not about the points we have picked up - I believe we are the best side in the division and we should be beating these bottom 6 sides at home comfortably which is far from the case

We have or did have the best home record in the league. Why do we need to change? Do you not think you might be overreacting?

Look at the form table rather than league table, MK are a decent side.
Expecting us to just turn up & sweep them aside "comfortably" is naive.

Mk dons weren’t poor. Without the gift we’d have won
I agree, MK dons could have won there was little to choose between the sides which is the concern as we are chasing promotion and they are trying to stay up and have already shipped 37 goals this season - We should be battering these teams as there results suggest they are not very good in recent times shipping 2 goals against southend 3 gainst tranmere and losing to Bolton - If have our eyes on promotion we need to be beating these teams convincingly

They’ve beaten Oxford, drew with Donny away, and only just lost to Rotherham with ten men in the last month. I think you’re comparing them under a different manager in different form.

If we really want promotion we need to be picking wins up against these type of sides particulary when we go 1-0 up after a minute

Tactics were wrong yesterday. We sat back on a one nil lead. Then upped the urgency/tempo when they equalised, a bit too late by then.

Our strength isn’t our defence imo. Although it’s not bad. But you have to question the lack of urgency till they equalised.

I may be being harsh as I still think we were by far better side. But we got what we deserved.

We've only won one home game by more than 1 goal all season and only scored more that 2 goals once. While the home form is good we really do need to start winning more convincingly if we want to challenge for the autos.

You'll find this thread on every team's forum. Rotherham, the current League 1 leaders, have lost at home this season to Rochdale and Lincoln, and drawn at home to Tranmere and Shrewsbury. It is indeed naïve to imagine that we should batter such sides.

Strangely I thought MK dons were one of the better sides I'd seen at St Andrews.

They really limited our game...

It's just football and sometimes things don't go your way

We have conceded the least amount of goals in the league at home. Winning will enable us to challenge, not winning more convincingly

Why do we have a divine right to be "battering" them?

We are doing okay
Everybody relax
If at the start of the season you had been offered this position you would have taken it.

But expectations rise based on what happens on the pitch? Sheffield United are 6th atm, their fans would have been happy with staying up but it doesn’t mean they’d accept 17th now

Wycombe are second and probably the same - staying up was the objective

Didn’t go yesterday as away but can’t get the subs & system change ? It seemed to be doing ok ? Why didn’t he just go like for like Allen & O’Hare for Westbrooke & Shipley ?

Amazes me how pessimistic some of our fans are. After the Lincoln game there was melted down as we hadn’t won away. We then won two on the trot 4-1. So we drew yesterday it happens.
Leicester scored 9 against Southampton yet yesterday lost to them at home, who saw that coming? Nobody has the devine right to beat anyone.
Surely the positive is we have only lost 3 matches in the league all season. If we keep going on a similar fashion I for one am happy with what’s happening. Yes I want us to be in the top 2 scoring 4 goals every week but I know it’s not going to happen.

It’s not pessimistic it’s a realisation this probably is a once in a decade opportunity to get promotion which we will never get again

Changes worked and we should have won

Putting Biamou on the left was pointless and counter productive. McCallum looked exhausted and they started to exploit that weakness

So if we don't go up this year we may as well fold?

No we will just exist. Teams like Barnsley and Luton will again dominate next season

Well I hope you're wrong, I may as well not bother putting in the 5000 miles a season to watch them as what's the point

If the players are better than Baylis and Chaplin by your own logic they will be in demand by much higher clubs big we don’t get promoted so will be sold and we have to start again next season

Couldn’t agree more. There was a quote on the match thread yesterday saying it was a “must win”. We didn’t, and funnily enough we are still in the mix.

There is nothing anyone on here can say that will convince me anything other than MR is doing a cracking job, making us very hard to beat and an exciting team to watch in very difficult circumstances.

It was prob the poorest we have played this season in Birmingham yesterday, but we still Came out of it with a point.

I genuinely have no idea what you get out of supporting a team. A genuine question, what do you enjoy about following us? I think with some stuff you rightly call things out and I’d probably consider myself to be in the higher % of people on here who tolerate you but sometimes you really do push the boundaries. Even in a season where we’re doing really well you manage to put a negative spin on it and it’s basically disaster if we don’t get promoted. If we were in Liverpool shoes you’d probably still find something to moan about.
