I wish we had this team in league one
Could tell yesterday it's made a difference, Jones got up after being fouled and squared up to their player. Last season, he probably would have moaned at the ref and sulked.
What I noticed on a photo after was that while he was squaring up the people around it were the ref, Doyle and Kelly.
The other day "can't remember if it was Jones" it was said that when they get fouled, by the time they are up Doyle has already dealt with it.
I think little bits like this will make the difference. It's the polar opposite to last season.
I still don't get what the worry about Doyle was. He was the captain and enforcer of a team that pissed promotion from this Division last season. And he played nearly every game. Some players just have natural fitness. And when they do slow down a bit they are still better than other players when they drop down a division or two. His game isn't running from one box to the other all game. So he could easily have another season or two after this one. And you can't beat having a player who still plays because he still enjoys the game.
Just 1 year to waitI wish we had this team in league one
Trouble is though if we do(and we all hope) do well and go up, what will the objective be from the owners? If it is still to be self sufficient then again there will come a time (maybe in L1) where we can't compete without investment.:emoji_thinking: But lets get there first and worry about that after.:emoji_thumbsup:Just 1 year to wait

You seem excitedexactly, we have a court appeal effecting our landlords to cope with before this

Correct. SISU will be as much to thank for a successful season this year as they were for last year's relegation.The thing is, it's nothing to do with the owners right now. This start to the season, the squad, the organisation is all down to Robins and his managment team, including the scout.
I am seeing a lot of people at the moment saying 'why have SISU suddenly started backing the manager'. In reality, nothing has changed, I actually just think some fans are looking for scaepegoats for other previous managers...
Jones got fouled, nothing given got straight up demanded the ball went back at the same player won a free kick then it kicked off!! The whole demeaner is different this year. The lads were kicked all over the park but no one cried off or hidCould tell yesterday it's made a difference, Jones got up after being fouled and squared up to their player. In reality a new scouting infrastructure is in place. A huge change. Credit where cresit is dueThe thing is, it's nothing to do with the owners right now. This start to the season, the squad, the organisation is all down to Robins and his managment team, including the scout.

Indeed! A far cry from last year's Wimps and Panseys waltzing around the park.Could tell yesterday it's made a difference, Jones got up after being fouled and squared up to their player. Last season, he probably would have moaned at the ref and sulked.

There's an element of that. However, it's not just all down to Robins. Bringing in 12 players is a lot, so I doubt Robins has waved a magic wand and made it fit in the budget. The budget must be one of the largest in the league as we're able to sign the players we have. We even had some good teams in L1 too.
The budget doesn't come into it really. I imagine it is smaller than last years given the relegation, and probably similar in league status as last year.
The only difference is that the manager this year took note of what budget he had and worked accordingly with it to squeeze every penny. Robins has been organised and planned well for every eventuality. Now it is paying off.
So from last season how many loans went back, how many didn't have their contracts renewed, how many have we loaned out and how many have been sold/compo paid for?There's an element of that. The only difference? We have revamped thw recruitment structure now
Huge change yielding results

There was the tin pot windfall. We were self sufficient or so we are led to believe.
Ticket sales are above what nearly everyone thought. 2 players have come in late. So bit of a coincidence?
If our attendances keep up and the same % spent last season and this we could even end up with a bigger budget this season.
Bums on seats pays for players, the bums connected to SISU don't.
exactly, we have a court appeal effecting our landlords to cope with before this
It isn't a huge change.
Robins = Mowbray
Widdrington = Venus
So how many left? And remember any loaned out.We lost Thomas and Bigi, all the rest were released by Robins. Personally, I think the team is an improvement on last year, with the exception of Thomas.
Robins set a target of getting 12 players in, and unsurprisingly, we've signed 12 players. There must've been some provisional budget in place for him to come to that number. By the sounds of it, our latest signing was in the pipeline for a while, based on MR's comments.
So far we've had 1 home game, which we got a respectable 10k, but it was opening day with a large away support. I think we'll average around 8k, unless we really are the real deal and the fans flock back and we hit more than 13k. Maybe we'll get 1-2 more signings.
Or a change of direction by a manager that knows what he is doing.but did Mowbray/Venus have the option to dish out as many 23 year contracts as Robins has?
If not then that's a change of direction from the owners.
Or a change of direction by a manager that knows what he is doing.
well if Mowbray had the option to follow the recruitment model that Robins is implementing but didn't then yes.
I don't suppose we'll ever know for sure.

Even Mowbray wasn't that bad to offer more than 1 year to the crap he ended up bringing in.well if Mowbray had the option to follow the recruitment model that Robins is implementing but didn't then yes.
