#SHFWFgood post !
comes to something that our glory games were against oxford and Gillingham
We are
I have been told that financially we are desperate for income and a lot of it and a recent event has put a cat right amongst the pigeons. As for £10 for ten tickets not against anything that helps the club especially financially, not sure of league rules and considering our ST holders but I would think a £5 per head on the day walk up price would be better or get a season ticket holder to bring a friend for a fiver for instance.
It is the Jones injury, I’m told he was set to be sold in January I think we all suspected that, the bulk of the money was essential to get us through the season others may be sold now but for nowhere near the amount Jones would have realised and would seriously weaken us tough times ahead I fearThis recent event? is it?
- ARVO want some interest paid
- ARVO want some capital repaid
- Jones was all set to be sold but got injured
- The academy needs to pay a deposit or premium to retain usage at the Higgs
- Academy is moving and its going to cost
- Turnover has been so bad this season that wages exceed the SCMP and we are at risk of embargo which means we have no players coming in January
- CCFC have been told to contribute to court costs
- Rent costs are going up, or any alternative requires a deposit or premium
- Payments are due on players that have been brought in
- something else
The wages of Andreu & Jones must now be a drain with nothing in return due to their injuries, and still count towards scmp with no ability to sell them on. Mind you given Saturdays performance most of the squad appear to be a drain with little in return!!

Who put this rumour around I wonder ? Very convenient to a company who had a fair few windfalls last year, crowds higher than most for the league and one eye now on January to capitalise once again ............I can't believe people really fall for their bullshit all the time !Hang on - lots of people including me having pointed out that the low crowds are bugger all to do with price, it's the fact that the market for watching us in the re-branded Division 4 is far more limited than it is if we were in higher divisions. Either that, or us and every League Two club, now and in the past, has charged too much and would have sold out their grounds for every game if we shaved a few quid off the admission fee....
Let's face it - they could offer free entrance and the Ricoh wouldn't be half full. The money men have done their work and know their customers; they know what crowds they'll get at the existing price model; they have modelled by how much that would change in terms of total ticket revenue and our F&B share if we tweaked the pricing offer upwards or downwards; they'll have come to the view that the current pricing is the optimum offer in terms of how much revenue it brings in. Put it up, and you have further drop in support but in a way that negates any impact from those still going who pay a few quid more; drop it down and you'll get a few more turn up, but not so many to make up for the revenue loss through the price reductions.
There is a rumour doing the rounds that they aimed for 9k-9k average gate this season and are obviously under-shooting that by 20%+, hence the rumours of a huge budget shortfall. But that's just all it is for now, rumours.
that may be so, but we're talking about an offer that requires getting 10 people together on the Friday before Christmas, it's an impossible task.
If they had made it £10 per ticket I may have got one or two to go with me if lucky but trying to drag 10 people away from the warmth of their home/pub on what is traditionally one of the busiest nights of the year.

Pipe down captain bullshit getting moist over a random thought put out there and stick to your rumours and back and forth between moralsGood post OSB but be careful posting about Avro "wanting this" and "Avro wanting that". Nick will go crazy if he thinks his money is getting back to Avro/SISU. I think the day of reckoning is coming as investors lose patience, interest rates rise and they will demand a return on their investment.

I'm consistent with my views, you should try it sometime. You might like it.
Obviously doing it wrong!Very good
All dry here I am afraid, not even close to moist.
Dont forget the rip off problems parking... a tenner to watch the game with a potential of being entertained and a tenner for parking with no potentialDon't forget the problems parking.
Should I take my camera then?I guess for some games it would but for the Friday night before Christmas the best marketing department in the world would have there work cut out shifting tickets for a division 4 game of fotoball

He's just speculating as to what the mystery event was that rupert_bear referred to. He's also SBT's resident finance expert and probably the most respected person on this board, so play nicely!Whatever mate. Not so sure about this but.
April/May - Windfall of 150kfrom checkatrade trophy.
Harries ....sold for approx 100k to swansea. July
Thomas....Sold for approx 250k to Leicester. Aug.
Young lad sold to Man united for a fee...50k?
Sold 5000 season tickets at inflated prices. Sane as last season.
Averaging still 7700 at the ricoh. I make that at least above most persons estimates and probably above SISUs forecasts.
May be getting some add ons fromMaddison sale. Ie Goals/appearances/England U21 call up etc.
Will probably still earn a windfall of 100k from Stoke game even if we lose.
So not sure where u get you get tgat from.

Well if they’ve budgeted for 9,000 it’s irresponsible. Also we don’t know the mix of adults concessions walk ups but either way it’s a revenue hole.
It would also suggest the budget would be one of the biggest if not the biggest in the league. Which poses further questions given our position in the league and performance levels.
Just speculation really trying to guess what the event could be. Wasn't saying any of the suggestions were right or happening
however.....
Anything received in April or May will be included in the previous years accounts and budgets, the financial year end for Otium is 31/05/2017. So the current budget etc wouldn't include April & May 2017
What I was told from a credible source is that CCFC budgeted on attendances of 9000 this season. We are not close to that and it is consistently falling so far this season. The biggest effect will be the underachievement of the walk up ticket sales, and they pay substantially more than ST holders and therefore carry a bigger effect on turnover. Did they achieve 5000 ST's? thought it was nearer 4500 and lower than the previous year which exceeded 5000 when average crowds were 9111. ST's went up 20% on average wasn't it?, take out the VAT and admin costs (not talking about the fee Ticketmaster charge per ticket) and adjust for less sold and the effect of the ST sales isn't what you are suggesting.
The thing about budgets is that people generally spend/operate to them, especially when assembling a squad pre season, which means if the budget turnover is not achieved then there could be a potential problem. Costs have been committed for the season before any income of note is received and hope to recover by hitting budgets. Even if at the end of the season budget attendance & income is achieved it doesn't mean there will not be problems during the season, with costs needing to be cut to pull back cash flow or because the SCMP being reviewed during the season
So they may have got 400k in player sales of which under SCMP they can utilise 60% and could be staged payments in any case and there might be agents fees to pay out of it. Hardly big sums in any case. The incomes were known and would be in the budget at the squad assembley period there is a risk of spending on that but then not achieving other incomes
Appearance monies etc often get settled at the end of season, certainly there is a timing delay, nor can it be guaranteed, and we don't know the trigger points in respect of Maddison in any case. I doubt it would be big numbers just yet. Look how easily it changed for Callum Wilson...... one minute heading towards trigger points next out injured for months
Yes we get extra cup income. Most budgets are not based on cup runs though. But we also get extra costs because of it and the gate money is split 45:45:10 between clubs and FA isn't it. If we do not win there is no prize money for the 3rd round. The other cup games so far this season I doubt broke even. Extra income from Stoke game yes but also extra costs. If we are already in a hole financially then that £100k is only going to help fill the hole - kind of depends how far they are down financially doesn't it...... with reasonably fixed costs (especially wages) then falling incomes is a real threat
Yes but they get all the pie money.I'm not convinced CCFC would be foolish enough to estimate ambitious figures of 9000 on average to set our SCMP forecast given the rate of which we're losing fans and given the drop in leagues and smaller clubs visiting the Ricoh with smaller away followings too.
Last season in league one we only had a league average of 9,119 with a total of 209,726 and previous to that averaged 12,570 with 289,119 over the league campaign in happier circumstances enjoying 4/5 months looking strong play off candidates.
Plus factor in last seasons L2 average gates too, Portsmouth were very good with a average of 16,391, followed by Plymouth with nearly half that on 8,798, and Luton in 3rd with 8,226.
Put all that together and you'd not go along with 9,000 average.
Interestingly Accrington last season had the lowest number of spectators and average with just 1,699 and a total of 39,085 which we will surpass twice over this weekend after 11 games.
Look how competitive they are and have been the last few seasons in L2 on such a tight budget.
Yes but they get all the pie money.
But is it real meat?Morecambe get £4.50 a hot dog....
