It's still there, high up on its pole, at the entrance to Broadgate

It does look a particularly sad elephant to be fair.

Ha thanks will make an effort to spot it next time we go to Coventry City centre - in the meantime google maps

I think it was styled to be viewed from below, much like the Statue of Liberty?

The original plan was for a pair of marble columns with much bigger war elephants on top and the statue of Godiva between the two but the 'peaceniks' on the council decided it was too war-like.

We should have our own bollards like Amsterdam with elephants on them. Am I imagining it or did we used to?
