Seen several fb posts on the Elephant in Coventry - but none say it’s still
There or where it ended up ? Someone on here must know 😁 IMG_1997.jpeg

It's still there, high up on its pole, at the entrance to Broadgate (y)

It does look a particularly sad elephant to be fair.

I think it was styled to be viewed from below, much like the Statue of Liberty?

The original plan was for a pair of marble columns with much bigger war elephants on top and the statue of Godiva between the two but the 'peaceniks' on the council decided it was too war-like.

We should have our own bollards like Amsterdam with elephants on them. Am I imagining it or did we used to?
