Simms got a right bollocking from both Robins and Adi as Milan was looking to hit the channels and he just didn’t move. He’s definitely not lazy he just isn’t an intelligent footballer.

Godden on the other hand is intelligent but has literally no physical attributes to go with it. It’s a struggle watching him play atm.

Robins has been ruthless in the past but doesn’t seem to be doing it with Godden. We need another option in Jan.

Agreed there, willing not able versus not willing but able

It's naturally harder for central strikers to score when your two wide players are constantly looking to cut inside and get in the box themselves. Not saying Simms deserves a free pass in any way, and players not trying is unforgivable, but just putting that out there.

Need Godden hidden in Simms hair Ratatouille style.

Simms needs to catch up with the group and Godden is being left behind by the group. Simms has time on his side, where as Godden's time is up at the club. Robins will bring in younger pacy player who runs the channels better.

I like Godden but its time to move on in my opinion.

Where are his goals ? that’s what he was bought for

Where are the chances we're supposed to create for him? I'll judge him once he's had a run of games with a CM who can find him regularly with good through balls, or with Wright and Sakamoto putting crosses in for him, MvE and Bidwell, too. If he doesn't add some goals with that supply, fair enough.

Yes. But my point is he has all the attributes. The modern game is all about short or threaded passes to find the perfect opening. Now that we play at least one “winger” it would be great to see some old fashioned crosses to a big strong forward. I’m not sure any of our forwards are that.

I’ve not said a lot about Wright & Simms but in my opinion both despite their fees have a lot to do to show me they are good enough to step up a division.

Sort of agree but two of our last 4 goals have come from crosses into the box, it's just they're often from a fairly narrow position where the wide player is most likely to benefit.

Simms played in this league and the league above last season.

Wright played in the Turkish top flight.

Neither Sunderland, Everton or Antalyaspor played in league 1.

That’s not much of a revelation.

There are not many £3.5m forwards that cut it in the premier league …..

They are both means to an end …..
