Up to 28c in Italy today. It's 33C here in Azerbaijan.
I don’t really go to the Lake all that often to be honest. Most of the bars and restaurants are pretty much the same in the town though. There’s ’British’ pub called Main Street if you fancy a decent beer.
If you’re up for driving a bit and want to sweeten the going to Germany part, I’d suggest taking her here - Un Luogo da Sogno | La Casa degli Spiriti you should be able to book online.
They’ve got a gourmet type place and an osteria in the same building. The osteria is very good…wouldn’t bother with the gourmet one. We’re off to your favourite island again next week. Thanks mate, actually walked by it earlier. Looks really, really nice here so far!
Will take on your recommendation for La Casa degil Spiriti on board also!

Agreed, it really seems little different to December. I miss the seasons11c and absolutely pissing it down here, looking out of the window it's difficult to distinguish what time of year it is most days. Only the leaves on the trees are the giveaway. Fucking depressing.
It's genuinely cold here this morning, I'm tempted to put the heating back on. It seems like western Europe on the whole is just grey and miserable.
Starmer out!!!New government sworn in and the weather goes from 20c sunny to pissing down...
Hope it lasts - we're heading in your general direction next week!A balmy 35c here
Prepare yourself…it’ll be very hot.Hope it lasts - we're heading in your general direction next week!
It's alright, i've read the Met Office and UKHSA health warnings for when it goes over 22C!Prepare yourself…it’ll be very hot.
On the way though we're assured?OK, so this report refers to last year UK getting more hot and more wet days – Met Office
But this year's data don't seem to support the trend. Here is the max temp data for the past 8 weeks (i.e. meteorological summer so far) for my local weather station (Pershore, Worcs), showing there have been just 6 days where the temperature has been at 25 degrees or above. And NO days where an "extreme high temperature" (30+ degrees) has been recorded.

Interesting point, but I'm not sure - the news report was about maximum temperatures, so i thought i'd look at that. What abou the daily low compared to the long term average?
Wow, 6 hot days every where but the South East last year.OK, so this report refers to last year UK getting more hot and more wet days – Met Office

To use my solar panels as an indicator, in December (the darkest month), i generated just 83.6 kWh in the whole month. Compare this with June (the sunniest month so far, but not great as summer months go, as this thread has exemplified), in which i generated 963.1 kWh for the month (of which i exported about 60% to the Grid). My panels are all virtually west-facing, so are more heavily-impacted by the early sunset in winter. Solar farms are generally built facing south so won't be as badly affected by the reduction in daylight hours. What I would really like to see is some statistics showing
(a) How many days a year there is sufficient daylight sunshine to support the solar farms.
(b) How many days the wind is at the correct force /speed to support the wind farms.
