The messiah.... I'm sorry everyone. I hold my hands up and make a full apology to you all.
I've found reason in most things under RS that make sense to justify why he's made decisions on selections, why we've come close to a extra 3 wins and how individual and collective mistakes have cost us. Quite simply the team ain't up to it, ain't enough goals in them and a mistake or 10 in them all especially our defence and keeper that's more fragile than ever.
However I CANNOT justify that starting 11 and how he set up with 4 at the back in a 442, the players have played them roles in there careers before where put but why not 352 to match up. We did it v Fleetwood and so nearly stopped a inform side. why not last night?
I can understand how 18 odd goals James Vaughan was always going to score and how we needed to nullify him and failed we're poor, but we set up equally poorly.
He's rolled every dice with all players in all positions, last night seemingly the last roll.... He's out of ideas to get a poor team to gain anything from a game.
Sorry all, I promised it all 2 long months ago.... I really thought he could turn this team around..... we're only human right!

It's bizarre and thoroughly embarrassing. As I said on another thread, it's bad enough being 14 points from safety. What's worse still though is our being an incredible 11 points behind even the team that is 4th from bottom.

We are seemingly getting worse and worse and worse.

I really think he should do the decent thing and step down now. It is all getting really embarrassing and we are now a laughing stock of a club.

All the teams around us in the struggle have been beating us, Chesterfield, Oldham, Bury, Swindon.

Just proves that we are clearly the worst team in this division and by a long chalk.

If whoever is going to be in charge next season is available, let's get him in now and start planning right now for League Two.

The man for 17/18 season needs to be identified very quickly by the so call board and a pathway identifying very quickly to the rebuild however it will be done.
We need a very different approach to the summer of 2016, targets that fit the profile of a ailing club need establishing very quickly to save our league existence. We simply cannot afford to get this summer wrong.

This is the huge issue.... I agree. We are not a pull in our current climate to managers or players.
Managers will be aware of the toxic relationship here, dwindling fans base, and what will likely be a bottom 12 budget next season. RS may actually be the best we could actually attract and he may oblige to put right the last few months.
Even players that we should be looking will likely choose Chesterfield, Grimsby or Barnet next season ahead of us.
What can we actually offer any respected up and coming manager or player that wants to use us as a spring board. We have proven year after year, manager after manager, player after player rarely go on to flourish.
It's gonna take a Wiley old head to do this job next year

The problem there is that it won't even occur to those running the club to do anything like that. Fisher &Co will be thinking that we had 9000+ on Saturday, there's a Wembley payday coming up, so everything is rosy. I was originally going to respond to this by arguign that our poor form was the case before Slade and it's not that we've got worse, just that we've carried on the same as before he arrived.

But the stats bear out your point:
2016/2017 up to Slade's appt: 22 games, 19 points - just udner a point per game
2016/2017 from Slade's appt: 12 games, 6 points - 0.5 points per game

Of course, it is possible to argue that Slade came in to a team that had lost 6 on the spin, so on that basis he is doing better than the 0 points per game during the slump that he inherited.....

It is a top down situation. A certain person said to me "we are all thumbs".

The "we" is from the top. If that is the case, it is no wonder that Slade is also "all thumbs". A well run club with ambition would work differently.

The employees would work as a team to achieve that ambition and maybe perform above their level to support the team ( club as a whole).

If the sole ambition at. CCFC is not to spend more than is taken in - and if that is from the top - then the whole club will follow that lead. Even subconsciously. There is no other ambition or point in doing your job.

You turn up and go through the motions as do your colleagues. Your aim is actually being achieved- cash flow breakeven.

So, no surprise if the team gets relegated. Sporting success wasn't the target.

We or they (SISU) need to start planning for L2 and what that will bring (hopefully SISU fucking off is plan A). Which in this pathetic team we are likely to want to keep, who are we are likely to sell (Willis etc) and what is our recruitment strategy for the new season. We need a young hungry team (and maybe the same in a manager?) to start the season. These players are not simply good enough and morale of the team is on the floor, there is not one leader on that pitch who can carry the team when they are low and the manager certainly isn't filling that role.

Next year is going to be probably the most critical season in CCFC's history....

Unfortunately i'm 100% with this. The aim of the club from the owners has nothing to do with league success/position. Its £££ related. If you offered SISU a club making £2m profit a year but stuck in league 2 or a club in the Championship that can only break even, then they'll be happily sat in league 2.

Was expecting good things from russel slade, but he left the club with the squad ill equipped to make a fist of it in this division.

If we go down I think in years to come we will speak of slade and just the mention of his name will leave us all thinking very negatively.

To adjust your outgoing to match your income looks sensible, but in business you only do that if you have a plan to grow. We have no leadership, no ambition and all SISU can see is how can they maximise claw back on their investment. That can never work in football. They are so thick skinned that i am sure they are happy they have stopped our club from being a financial drain on them.
I was once asked by a businessman if he should buy a struggling League 2 club, my answer was only if your prepared to right off what you put in. Why couldn't SISU see that when they bought CCFC.
Slade has failed and should resign, but unless there is a huge change to the business plan (if we even have one) then so will the next manager fail.

I hear your point but I think its largely the problem already, we currently have a young team that should be hungry but most are not quite up to league one grade, and collectively poor and don't play at a good enough work rate
RCC/ Burge not a number one keeper,DKE like dynamite at times with a temperament to match... still young. Willis, made his share of mistakes and no leader, Haynes as we've all said is not a left back, makes errors too and needs looking after but flourishes the further up the park we go. Harries is not yet a man but clearly a player in the making.
Bigi is no good either, supposedly a man now he's married but makes errors left right and centre and rarely completes a pass. Lameries is a technical player without pace and not suited to league one, JJ is nothing more than a impact player without end product and so predictably one footed.
Stevenson son showed promise but has a injury that's dragging on after having his head turned. George Thomas tries and is slowly adding goals to his game but still not quite up to league one standard.
Throw in the dog shit Turnbull who we paid for.... Andy Rose who may as well be 5'2" for all the physical attributes he offers and goes missing to easily, Tudgay the man we love to hate, Kyle Reid who's done absolutely nothing.
Throw all that together and little wonder we are where we are and the January signings that have now dropped to the level of the rest and it's piss poor. Little wonder RS has struggled and now lost the plot with last nights team selection.
The only thing to take forward to next season is Stuart Beavon and Kwame Thomas!
So many areas were lacking in... decent experienced players in key roles is one.

To be honest folks, I don't think any manager will get us moving in the right direction which we have SISU at the club. There will be managers that can do better than Slade but it would be temporary as without the right leaders and investment our only hope is to fluke promotion 2 years running which isn't happening anytime soon.
