The more I stare at the fixture list the more I see games we might not win. This will bring out people calling for AT's head each time.
I just think that if people are expecting us to be bottom half of this league then they must think we are really really shit. Yet there are numerous positive posts about players. What's it to be? Or is there just a massive spread of opinion?
But we are shit?

It will indeed.
Unfortunately I still sense a bit of a 'big club' mentality amongst some supporters here. Therefore when we lose to the likes of Yeovil or Carlisle there will be a lot more wailing and gnashing of teeth.
I see no reason why we will do well and though people have said they see nowt wrong with being optimistic, it just means when we do lose to some of these 'lesser' clubs the fall from grace will be that much harder to swallow.
We have had the warnings. Fans of other clubs have been on here and told us it's going to be really tough and a lot harder than we will be expecting and David Smith, the former City player who went on to be the commercial manager at Grimsby, a team that went up and down the leagues, said that League One is much tougher than the Championship.
Just get the feeling that if we finish mid-table there will be a lot of recriminations on here, Personally I don't think we should expect better than midtable.
Seems to me that with every defeat there will be more and more anger at the players, board and manager.
As for me personally, midtable would be a good outcome, for I can quite easily envisage a lower table finish being on the cards for us.
In this league we are going to have to battle and work our socks off game in, game out. Can you hand on heart see Gary McSheffrey and David Bell and Chris Hussey sweating blood every week?
I think a few people are going to be in for a shock on here. Unless we bring in at least another 4 or 5 players then I believe top 6 is just a pipedream.
Can't believe you seriously think that Division1 is harder than the Championship.Walsall better than Wolves??,Bury better than Blackburn??,Shrewsbury better than Leicester??,Crewe better than Bolton??.It may not be a walk in the park in this division, and no team will just roll over and die for us,but their is a huge drop in quality in this division,in the same way the Premiership has far better sides than the Championship.I don't think anyone has ever suggested we got relegated from the Championship because we were better than all the teams in it.
I see the Thornites are getting the excuses in nice and early.
There's not that much of a drop in quality though, Southampton and Norwich achieved double promotions - what does that say about the quality of the championship that a promoted team blasts all the established championship teams away and get automatic promotion. Or that the 3 teams promoted to the PL survived and established PL teams were relegated. Their star players, Lambert and Holt were plying their trade in League One and Two for years before shining in the Championship and in Holts case the premier league. Don't be fooled there are a lot of decent players in league one.
Southampton were bankrolled by the Liebherrs and Norwich equally had the luxury of being able to splash out to add to a group of players who were already above League One quality. The momentum gained from title winning seasons pushed them to go up again; and though I may seem a little naive in saying it, I've no idea how a team containing Ward and Bennett at the heart of its defence managed to get promoted from the Championship. I've even less idea how Grant Holt scored so many goals last season in the top flight-look at their team on paper and man for man it has few you'd class as PL quality. But hey, what do I know?
Remains to be seen how Hughton gets on with them-they're really lacking in quality and the wrong appointment will get them relegated.

All these people didn't say 'better,' they said tougher and harder.
There have been a whole stack of clubs go down to League One from the Championship and not come back for quite some time.
We were not only a top six side but actually topped the league around Christmas time in our first season in the Championship. After Strachan finally left, Roland Neilson came in and took us up to the very top. But sadly it didn't last and we gradually fell away and out of the top six. That first season down was the only time we were a genuine top six club, sadly.I can't remember us being top 6???? 1969-1970 would seem to be the last time and that was 14 years before I was born.
First few games he gets a little lee way. Remember this: Colchester United 7 - 1 Norwich City?
