They're having enough trouble with the current roadworks on campus to facilitate a stadium designed for a few thousand people. Finished by the time term starts they said. I'm sitting at four way traffic lights and it's nearly CHRISTMAS.

I'm joining the 3pm protests and bringing my tazer.

Personally I thought the footage of the Police throwing their weight about with CS Spray and Tasers was quite frankly disgusting.

The official line is that 'they started it' with one of the protesters attacking one of the campus security guys or something, which seems odd as they're normally teddy bears. It's a mental video though, I'm going to have a mooch over at 3 as they're protesting the police thing now.

I think you'll find that between all those who "have lost interest", "do other things on a Saturday", "won't go while SISU are here" and "won't go to a new stadium" then gridlock won't be a problem.

Gridlock already a problem.

They moan about the fees but they all own a car and the bars are packed every night?

Suppose you have to get your priorities right my daughter and son are both at uni and work to pay their own fees, maybe more should do it.

Anyway back to the subject it was categorically denied that the new stadium will be built there.

Even Tim laughed it off:thinking about:

I believe October is traditionally the Wicker Man thing. Or is that just in Hinckley?

Either way, I nominate Tim. ;)

The only way a new stadium can feasibly be built is next to a large conurbation, this is the only way you will get third parties involved in joining the venture. If your out in the country you don't attract the customers plus the infrastructure is not good enough. The maximum amount of effort should be spent with making a workable deal with Wasps instead of fantasising about stadiums in the sky, their are simply to many obstacles in the way for it to get off the ground added to which our illustrious owners don't have exactly a good reputation for being straight in negotiations now do they. These twats want to worry about getting the product on the pitch right before anything else, you never know this may have a knock on effect with how many go to watch. Its a quick fix really, more punters equals more money. You can talk about all the problems this club faces but it all comes back to one constant, Sisu, nothing will progress while they continue to be involved with our club. Don't get me wrong I am not saying a change of ownership would bring instant success, what it would do though is give us the chance to draw the line under the last 8 years and start again. So if their is a Santa out their, its the season of goodwill, do us a favour and bring some joy to the city faithful, as long as its not the Seppala type. PUSB

If we are stuck with Sisu please can they reveal some proper details to the long suffering fans who just want to know where they stand.

IMHO they don't care and they probably don't know themselves. I don't believe they will ever build a new stadium.

I want to know where this "365 day revenue" will come from.

A small football stadium in the countryside, isn't going to attract much IMO.

Homeless people will live there? Paid for by the Council?

Let's hope so. Seen them play in Weston Super Mere once. They were a great laugh!

Regarding Warwick uni, I wouldn't have thought a bunch of lefty professors would be happy throwing their lot in with a highly publicised hedge fund.

Also all those students in love with planet earth would likely cause some interference with any building over the fields.

I have a deep regard for the university. If you have been near it it runs loads of conferences and events and all the ones I have been to are very well run and high quality. Given that Prof Thrift says this....

Vice chancellor Professor Nigel Thrift has a list of multi-million pound projects in mind for the sprawling campus in Gibbet Hill, Coventry.

The work depends partly on the university being able to make money from initiatives such as running conferences. And it depends partly on large donations from rich philanthropists.

Would a third rate stadium compete in the same area with a well established business that needs to expand. Doubt it.

My little girl is at Warwick University and what I have been shown and read about the place is very impressive indeed
i can't see them getting involved with SISU in any shape or form.
its got a fantastic reputation around the world and they surely wouldn't risk a relationship with our wonderful owners , would they ?

Lefty professors tend to have limited influence come the transition to corporate growth at universities... more's the pity!

Warwick Uni wont happen. There's more money in education than there is in a third tier out of town football club. Its simple economics.

Tell that to UWE.

Also tell that to Birmingham University.

Education is about more than books and lecture theatres...

I should point out that it's really not a hippy commune filled with tree-hugging professors. Go there tomorrow and see a capitalist building site.
