So you've never been nervous? Ever? Sir Stanley Matthews was famously physically sick before every game through nerves. Being nervous is sometimes a positive you know. It encourages focus and expresses desire. Why would people be nervous if they didn't care? I'm fed up of people over-analysing every single word out of Thorn's mouth, it's getting boring and making this forum less fun than spending time with the wife.

It is a lame excuse.

No it isn't. It's once again an excuse for Coventry supporters to moan at something that is so minicule in relation to the game. Read the article, that isn't used as an excuse. It's a passing comment, used as an explanation for how we played for the first 9 minutes, which he obviously wasn't happy about. He even says we grew into the game after the goal, it settled us. The article is more about the penalty that wasn't given. I'm assuming you were there as you're quick to jump on Thorn's back over the display?

You would have thought that Thorn would have them fired up, raring to go with the opportunity to show the fans who travelled down what they can do. I was not there no, I only back into the UK on Friday, I sat and stood through enough of last season and it sounds as though not a lot has changed. I know 9 others who were there who were far than impressed.

Ahh, so word of mouth, 3rd person testimony. Ok. Well, teams start off slowly, it happens. We scored when we were playing badly though. We didn't win, but we didn't lose. It was the first game of the season in a hugely competetive league. It beggars belief that some people jump on an off the cuff remark and make the typical mountain out of a molehill. I mean, really turn something so pathetically unimportant into something.

I have had a season ticket since 1990, I have watched enough of it to know how it works, cheers.

I usually don't pay too much attention to what he says to be honest, it can be pretty entertaining though.

To me it seems like there are a lot of new posters on the forum who have joined just to jump on the anti-Thorn bandwagon. It seems like a balanced view is just not allowed on this forum, and people shout each other down with the two extremes. Most right-minded individuals will say that Thorn has been allowed to continue for this season, and he should therefore be given the chance to succeed or fail. A win and a draw to my mind is not enough to say either way. Before the inevitable 'he had all of last season' posts, the point I am making is that SISU have, rightly or wrongly, allowed him to continue, therefore no amount of vitriol either way on here will make any difference to the end game. The only thing that will is results, and that is not something that can assessed right now.
