Not too down heartened by last nights display, probably better than expected, Cousins seems to have added a new string to his bow in downfiled throws and Jackson is reaping the benefits.

I thought the Cowboys looked as good as I expected, Zeke hurt us early and once we started to keep him quiet Dak, Morris and Bryant picked up the baton.

Glad we managed to hang in there with them, at 14-3 they could have run away with it, once again red zone success rate hurts us, it baffles me with two high level tight ends, R Kelley, Jackson and Crowder how we cannot convert a higher percentage in the RZ.

Anyway, it is what is it, play like that in every game from now until the end of the season we will be a threat in the playoffs.

Yep, most certainly.

There does seem to be a habit of Washington throwing the ball with gay abandon until they get in the red zone and then their buggering it up with baffling play calling.

Too often they pick a run play for either no gain or a loss.

They have so many receiving weapons I just can't see why they don't just continue where they have left off.

I know it gets much tighter once in the red zone, but they keep getting there and ending up with nothing.

I see Jones has been pushed out. I do think I still prefer him to Kelley and would like to see a place on a roster so both can play a part and alternate. Although they are a little similar, Kelley is more bulldoze your way through, while Jones has more trickery about him.

Looks like we will be two games behind the Giants cone Sunday night, as they play the Browns.

Looking a long way into the distance, if we can win 3 of our remaining 5 I think we will be in the wildcard against Detroit or Atlanta, both beatable.
I think we will win at the Cards and Bears, with a 50/50 games at home to Carolina, NY and @Eagles, ending 9-6-1, would mean
Minnesota need to win 4 out of their remaining 5
Tampa Bay & Philly needing 5 out of their remaining 6
And any others needing to win all remaining games to catch us.

Nothing would surprise me this year, Patriots looked like a good thing but I watched them on Sunday against a below average Jets and they just about did enough.
Seahawks with almost zero offence against Tampa bay
Dallas have come through a few really tough games and are all but in the post season, how will the pressure of Championship/SB games effect the Rookies Dak and Zeke
Raiders going toe to toe with everyone and anyone and coming out on top, but they are the raiders, so surely they cant win it?
The Steelers have all the weapons but are lucky they are in a garbage division after many slip ups this season
Are the Giants the 2nd best team in the NFC? I don't think so but their record says so, they have a tough run in.

Eli Manning is prone to off days too. Never been a big fan of Kirk Cousins before because he is a bit of a steady Eddie, nothing fancy, no trickery.

Now though I like him because he is exactly that. He's not an Aaron Rodgers, so shouldn't pretend to be.

I would prefer Cousins to Manning any day of the week. Manning can be got to and his game crumbles.

That Bucs game was a brutal watch. Can't win 'em all though, I'd rather the shit shows are out of the way now while it's looking comfortable.

Oh dear, bad defeat for the Redskins and now they've lost their place in the play-off picture. Arizona's defence rushed Cousins all night long and induced errors.

Not a good night. At last the Giants lost I suppose.

Can't wait to watch the hi lights of Seattle hammering the Panthers, I hope that they have given Newton a good kicking

Cam didn't start the game, they played the backup QB for the first play whilst Cam watched from the sideline, he tossed up an intercaeption lol.

He was back in for their second drive!

Strange one, wonder if their is trouble behind the scenes, maybe the head coaches way of showing Cam who is boss?

Edit: Just read that it was because he didn't wear a tie!

Yea, tough loss last night, not converting in the redzone again! I thought it was a good game, Cardinals seemed to play above the standard they have set for themselves this season.

Falcons have the Rams and 49ers up next so should move to 9-5 and take the NFC South, The Bucs have a tough run though, Saints twice, Cowboys and Panthers as do the Giants, If we can take the Giants to a final day decider at FedEx I would fancy us to get the job done!

Really missed Reed last night, a lot of the short yardage throws where Cousins would tend to get rid quickly to Reed weren't there last night, Davis got more attention being the no1 TE.

Word is the Skins will need to win 3 out of the last 4.

We have

Eagles

Panthers

Bears

Giants

The two really tough one there you would say are the Giants and Panthers. I know that Carolina are not having a good season, but Cam Newton can destroy you if you let him.

Let's hope he forgets his tie again.

I always worry which Eagles are going to turn up too. They obviously have some very talented players. Quite a few people tipped them to win the division.

One big worry last night was the Cardinals success on 3rd down. They completed 10/16.

The Redskins defence continues to be a concern.

need philly to do over the redskins this weekend.

want GB to aim for catching detroit and win division, but if not wildcard at least. bucaneers hold that at minute with 7-5

all can change quickly but packers need to win their own games, seahawks at home next, hopefully they will take foot of pedal as they have clinched playoffs lets be honest.

rodgers is playing well so hamstring should hold up. hes still rushing when opportunity arises

i cant see 49ers winning superbowl

GB if they make it are always a contender

so do the right thing and step aside lol
No, I can't see the Washington 49ers winning it either.

By the same token neither will the Green Bay Buccaneers.

I did have a bad feeling about this Eagles game before kick off. Am still worried.

This is the Redskins season right here I think. Lose this and the play-offs will all be but gone.

Falcons play at LA. Need them to lose. Win for Atlanta and loss for the Skins will mean it will be pretty much all but over.

Need to ditch the kicker, Dustin Hopkins. Now missed 7 field goals this season. Latest one hit the outside of the post and was no good.

Not good enough. :(

Another tight finish. Eek!!! Skins up by 5. Just about a minute 40 left.

Need a defensive stop.

I had visions of the Detroit game replaying over in my head watching that final drive, got me thinking though,

With 1:53 left on the clock and only 1 point behind when Thompson takes it to the house, if he had hit the deck at the 1 yard line instead of running it in Philly would have had to use their last time out, Probably 1:47 left on the clock, PHI with no timeouts and us 1st&goal on the one yard line.

Take a knee, run 40 seconds off, 2nd&Goal 3 yard line 1:07 left
Take a knee, run 40 seconds off, 3rd & Goal 5 yard line 0:27left
Take a knee, run 24 seconds off take our final TO and let Hopkins chip over from less than an extra point.

I would rather have a Hopkins 25 yard kick to win the game than give Wentz 1:47 to take it the length of the field in 4-down territory from the start of the drive?

I'm sure there's reasons against this but Id rather have the destiny in our kickers hands on a chip shot than our defence?

Anyway big win, great season so far, cant remember the last game I watched where I wasn't excited by the game, maybe the Steelers first game, even the losses (and tie) have been relatively enjoyable!

They are all big games now, beat the Panthers and the Bears, go into the last game at 9-5-1 and hopefully the Giants lose a game and will be 10-5 would make for a great final game!

You can tell its contract renewal year for DeSean Jackson, hes turned up the last few games, think he could have a field day against a weak Carolina secondary, that game could just turn into a shootout! Will Cam and the Panthers be out to show up Norman following his comments after Julio jones 400+ day against them or will they avoid him like the plague?

Yeah, the head coach said he would have preferred Thompson not scoring and taking the ball down to inside the 5 yard line, but how can you stop a running back in full flow.

There was always the chance too that Hopkins might miss, or there's a bad snap etc.

Glad he took the ball in, personally, but I did have one eye on the clock and was thinking there was still plenty of time left for a Philly drive. And when the drive came they did move the ball quite freely up until just outside the red zone.

Nice play by Kerrigan though on the blindside. The ball did seem to roll and bobble for an eternity though and I was shouting at the TV screen for someone to get their hands on it. :)

I'm not aware of Norman's comments. Will have to look that up. Cam Newton does worry me though and he is so mobile, which adds another dimension to the offence. It's something the Redskins lack.

We should beat the Bears, but I think Carolina will prove tough. Giants game could be massive, but I am hoping we can pinch that last wild card berth anyway and that the Bucs or Falcons falter.

Getting interesting, because up on the rails now are Green Bay in hot pursuit. Great win for them yesterday.

Just looked and the Falcons have a seemingly easier schedule than the Bucs. Hopefully Dallas can do us a favour (yeah, I know, hard to even suggest that because of the fierce rivalry), but I don't think we are going to get much help elsewhere.

As it stands we need help. Just beating the Giants won't do it for us at the moment. We need a team to falter too.

.

Julio Jones put up (sorry) 300 rec yards on Carolina earlier in the season and Norman had quite a bit to say about it, along the lines of "you get what you pay for" after they didn't offer him the money Washington did & tweeted "Im just gunna sip my tea on this one"

http://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/10/washington-redskins-josh-norman-julio-jones-carolina-panthers

He's also had issues with Cam in training whilst he was at the Panthers, I think its fair to say there could be some needle in this one.

I expect the Falcons to make it, Giants have a tough game against Detroit who will be out to clinch the NFC North, Bucs could have lost against NO last night and they have to go there after a road game to Dallas, that's tough!

The Packers probably need to win out, they should win their next two but then have a tricky one @Detroit on the last day, that could be a game to decide the division!

Yeah, cheers. Just looked it up. I do kind of recall the 'get what you pay for' comment, but didn't know it was about Julio Jones.

I'm hoping Newton forgets his tie again next week.

Also hoping Jordon Reid is fully fit.

great win for GB, absolutley destroyed a playoff contender.

however no other results went for us so its still a big task to make playoffs. just got to focus on next week vs bears

aim for division winners, and fallback on wildcard hopefully at worse. i think GB are most likely team in chasing pack that can win the superbowl so would be gutting not to make it.

Calm down, yes you're on a 3 game win streak, 2 of which were Houston and Philly.

Last night was a very convincing win but Seattle really don't like it on the road, L4 W2 T1 away from Clink this year, scoring 10 or less in all of the defeats.

You have a nice run in, but as soon as you come up against someone tough on the road in the post season I think that'll be all she wrote.
