Watched the entire Dolphins game last night. Great to be 1-0, but if that fumble doesn't happen at the end of Q3 there's no way back. Jags definitely a decent side and will cause some upsets this year. Only one game, but would expect both teams in the play off picture.

Eagles off and running against the Pack - but in Sao Paulo??? Bit warmer than northern Wisconsin, i would guess!
Jalen Hurts had something of a mixed bag. Couple of sacks and interceptions, but some outstanding rushes and passes, with Barkley scoring 3 TDs.
The secondary looked to leave open spaces and miss tackles like they did in the last few games of last season when they went from 10-1 to 11-6 (or 11-7 if you include the wildcard mauling by the Bucs), but the defensive line look good, with LB Zack Baun making a nuisance of himself.
Common theme from opening week (as always) a lot of penalties.
Actually thought Hurts did okay. Has struggled against the blitz but handled well against an aggressive Packers defense. Some of his passes were quite airy though.
Got to sort the QB-centre exchange out pretty quick though.

Jayden Daniels looked promising for Washington. Hopefully he stops the endless QB carousel there.

Same issues on defence though. It's going to take a while to fix that.

I like Daniels.
Defense has some big shoes to fill. Plus bringing in 1 year contract players is patchy at best. But will improve with time.
Buccs are tough though. Going to contending for the post-season.

49ers dominated the Jets.
This weekend could be a reality check on where the Vikings are really at for this season. For me it's still a rebuild until they get McCarthy settled at Qb next season.

Darnolds probably as good a back up as you could hope for really though. He’s still a starter at some teams. Think you’ll do ok this season.

Was great against the Giants but waiting to see how he reacts to any adversity. 49ers this weekend is a real benchmark test for him.KOC is a great coach for Darnold. Also last year at 49ers with Shanahan was good for him.

Also Darnold still suffering from his Jets reputation (who were a disaster franchise from top to bottom then). He's got all the physical tools, got the experience so it's just getting on top of the decision-making.

We're a few players short this season due to carrying so much dead cap from the likes of Cousins. But all the key offensive positions are filled with good quality players. Aaron Jones looks like being a good acquisition. Defense has been overhauled with Flores getting the type of players he likes. Just short on corners due to injury and the tragic death of our draftees.

Darnold keeps his form and we could be on for a wiining record which will be a nice springboard into next year.

Another rough night for Tua. Hopefully okay but he really should consider his long-term health.

Such a shame for him. He’s tough but what a crazy (stupid) dive which caused it, totally unnecessary, especially when you consider prior concussions. Only slight positive on a personal level for him is at least he signed a massive contract in the off season

Will he be able to remember signing it though? 🤔

Well, what a fabulous Commanders performance. Damned near perfect and Jayden Daniels was outstanding.

Threw for 2 touchdowns. Ran in for 1 himself.

21 out of 23 passes for completions, 254 yards passing and 39 yards of rushing.

Two TD's for Terry McLauren too, so it was an absolutely brilliant win. Been waiting for something like that for some time now.

Bengals now at 0-3. Was anyone expecting that?

Impressive for a rookie to go into Cincinnati and win a slugfest with Burrows. Bigger win than scoreline suggests.
Like Daniels - got all the tools to be a franchise QB. Helps to have a QB friendly OC.

Daniels looks to be some talent ! You’ve got to be chuffed to have him on board. Still looks a bit slight build to me but hopefully he can avoid getting bashed up

Not sure what Bengals front office has been playing at. To not just get the chase deal done over the summer was disruptive. Always seem to be slow starters (sounds familiar !) but turning round 0-3 is going to be tough

Daniels just looks every inch a franchise QB.

I am not going to get carried away as it’s still a weak roster and only 3 starts. Just looks like he has the tools to do it all.

that's the beauty of hitting a rookie contract QB. Like the Vikings you're carrying a load of dead money this season but next year we'll both be active in the free agent market.
Look at Dallas next year they'll be paying just 3 players over 50% of their cap.
The 3rd down TD pass was good but the 50 yarder to set up the 2nd? TD was exceptional. He's got it all ( with the help of good protection too). Thought his progression reads were top draw as well.

$35m dead cap but still $25m in cap space this year. Next season that turns into a whopping $121m in cap space.

If Jayden continues playing like that for the rest of the season then out of nowhere Washington becomes a very attractive destination.

We've got about 60m in dead cap this season (Cousins & Hunter). All the key offensive positions (when you include McCarthy) are under contract with good players. We'll have around 80m in cap space next year which willl mainly go on the defense.
I'd argue our roster depth is way stronger this season (despite the dead cap) through not paying Cousins & Hunter.
It's one of the things I love about the NFL set-up there are several routes to rebuild into a contender over a short span (2-3 seasons). But if you can get that rookie QB contract then it's a real game changer. Look at what the Cowboys and Eagles are paying their QBs whilst you have Jayden on a rookie contract.
Houston looked an absolute catastrophe 2 seasons ago. Cleared expensive contracts, traded high earners for draft picks then nailed the rookie QB. Stroud contract meant they could go big in free agency. Despite their result against us they will be challenging to go deep this season

Got out of jail there. Dumb penalties let the Jets back in. Jones injury killed the offense 2nd half.

Increasingly obvious Rodgers got Saleh fired. He was toxic at the end of his Packers's career and carried it into his Jets career. Maybe if he attended mandatory practice that offense might work better,

Their offence wasn't much better. Bears were impressive though.
For me that's on Lawrence. Decent protection, good receivers.
Bears's defense is strong. Now the run game is going they'll improve. Got really good receiving corps and TE. But still that Jaguars's defense handed them the game on a plate - gave the Bears's confidence by "gifting" TDs having been nullified in the 1st quarter.

100% Lawrence was awful. You just can't give a team that many turnovers.

That looks a horrible injury for Hutchinson.

nasty. Was operated on last night (tibia and fibula). Remember watching him get drafted by lions and saw on hard knocks his love for the team as he’s a local lad. One of my favourite players and hoping he makes a full, quick recovery

ps Hard not to love Dan Campbell/the lions

Jayden Daniels is a miracle worker and I love him unconditionally
Convinced we would lose that. Leading the whole way, but then started to fluff their lines and not progress the ball at all.

Knew they would miss that field goal to make it a two score differential and knew they weren't going to make anything out of that turnover. They started being far too conservative.

The Hail Mary was bloody brilliant though. Really got out of jail on that one.

The Commies with another big win! Didn't play at our best but yet still did what we had to do. Another tough one next week against the Steelers but think we can get it done.

Going to the home game against the Titans on December the 1st.

Can't wait!

Similar to the Eagles - only managed to beat a 2-7 team by a handful of points! Head to head a week on Friday. If you have a decent passing game, you could do well against a weak Eagles secondary, but Hurts is hitting his stride with Barkley, Brown and Smith on form. Detroit look the team to beat in the NFC at the moment, for my money.
