Depends if we want someone to develop or someone who's ready to hit the ground running. Personally I'd prefer either 2 of the former or 1 of the latter

Callum Styles for me... We know Robins likes him...

Or if we want to go all balls out, go and get Flynn Downes from West Ham

Players like Mowatt and Grimes really don't excite me, would be a massive downgrade on Hamer

Vik was a huge amount of entertainment value lost, Hamer is the rest of it until O’Hare is back. Really hope we don’t get some nondescript CM in. Or if we do there’s room elsewhere for someone who gets fans off their seats.

Im all for backing recruitment teams judgment on (relatively) unknowns from abroad but would like one or two in that will be up to speed straight away

Barnsley are gonna charge us a fortune for him and Kitching.
Think I read Styles can go for 2 million somewhere. Kitching will probably set us back around 3.5 million. Approx 5.5 for the pair isn't bad.

He liked Downes for certain but would believe its 12 months too late for him now. They need all the cover they can afford being in Europe

Billy Gilmour, we’ve been linked before. Not in favour at Brighton. Ex Chelsea Kid and looking at dates, Viveash might have worked with him. Still only 22 so still time to develop and mould him.

Smallbone has started in the Southampton team so won't be going anywhere. The more I've thought about Grimes the more I hope we look elsewhere. He is suited to a different style of play and we need more dynamism than he is likely to bring.

Hamza Chodhury won’t get much game time at Leicester this season with winks coming in for them. Maybe we could pinch him

Nothing like Hamer, he is pure destroyer.

Also always shocks me how short he is, that hair does a lot of work to make him memorable on the pitch I recon

He is also a sending off waiting to happen. I remember a challenge he made while playing for England u21 that was probably the worst I have ever seen.

Definitely a no from me.

Another name to throw into the mix. Joshua Kitolano. 4 goals, 2 assists last season in Eredivisie. B2B midfielder, loves a tackle and running to support the strikers.

Do we think we need a set piece specialist or is Sakamoto and Palmer enough? Feel we need someone with a piledriver of a shot.

Some awful suggestions here, it's almost as if some people never watched Hamer play
You have to pick and choose which of Hamer's attributes you want to replicate.
The long range passing and chance creation?
His defensive work and box to box stamina?
His ability to carry the ball 30 meters up the pitch?

There's not many players out there who can do it all.

Some of the players here can't do any of it
