Interesting to see what reaction he'd get. Personally I'd welcome him back, should never have sold him IMO.

McSheffrey scored 53 goals for the Sky Blues before joining Birmingham

Coventry City boss Chris Coleman has confirmed he is interested in bringing Gary McSheffrey back to the club.
The former Sky Blues forward, now with Birmingham, is one of several potential targets for when the transfer window reopens in January.
Coleman told BBC Coventry and Warwickshire: "Gary's been on our radar for some time. He's an ex-Coventry boy and a big fans' favourite."
McSheffrey, 26, is currently sidelined by a knee injury.
With Coventry currently 17th in the Championship, five points off both the play-off and relegation zones, Coleman said he was keen to strengthen his squad and had plenty of targets in mind.

Would McSheffrey be a good signing for Coventry?
"If I'm honest I haven't got a list of players, I've got lists of players and that would be the same if we were top or bottom of the league", added Coleman. "We have to be pro-active and we've got a lot of players on our radar."

Just read this on the BBC site - I think it's great news! Definately a fans favourite and, one would hope, would play with a bit of passion and commitment, AND get bums on seats! Would be good to see him back, personally. Will he come back though, that is the question!

I would like to see him fit before the club sign, as we have had far to many players sign for us with the hope that they will recover fully from previous injuries...and they have'nt....

Later...

If he does come back don't you think the fans will have to higher expectations?
Remember when he played for Coventry he was sent out on loan to Luton twice.
I think he is a good player on his day and the season we sold him to B'ham he was on fire but what has he done since?
The fans who are clamouring for him to come back think he is the answear to our problem's....he's not.
He has played in the Premiership but in my opinion was found wanting. There is a saying 'never go back' i think this is right in this case.

Well yeah I spose you're right, I suppose I'm liking the idea of his return purely because I liked him as a player AND as a Coventry Kid, and with Little Sheff, I always wore Sky Blue tinted glasses :) He always seemed to put the effort in though, and seemed to give a damn. I don't think he's the answer to our problems to be honest, as I think our problems, whatever they may be, are more than just one players, it's the whole team not gelling together. I don't think we should right him off before anythings actually happened though - its still only talk about him coming back - he probably won't. But if it is revealed that he is,then I think we should,as we should with every player, give them a chance to prove themselves! It would be wrong for him to just waltz back into the team on reputation and popularity alone, I'll give you that! :D
