The ricoh pointless >>???? (1 Viewer)

The Ricoh Arena. Great Ground can hold 32,000 the highest attendace we've had this season was 22.000 and that was a one off yesterday there was 15,000. I've been to every home game this season and some of the games have had great atmosphere with there only being 19,000 so think if we can make it 30,000 the Ricoh will truely be a place were city fans can be proud of.

FILL UP THE RICOH

I think it's a self-circling thing = when we start to play better, winning more matches and getting a bit of consistency (if we EVER get that?) then the Ricoh would start to fill up more, meaning a better atmosphere and more noise which in turn would hopefully spur the team on, but until the performances start getting a bit more exciting - the fans might stay away. I think the club should introduce more offers like Kids for a quid, to get more bums on seats and get the stadium filled up.

What?? dude, at least use propper grammar so I can understand what you're saying..

The reason the Ricoh is never full, is because we never put up back to back home win's enough times. If we're playing crap, people don't want to waste their money on a ticket. Especially this close to christmas.

Not being funny but what did you expect ?
I know we havent got the greatest attendance in the world but we are hardly the greatest club either lol.
It will be full one day... ... so for now lets just enjoy what we have.

I've edited the post to correct the mistakes.

People will only pay £20+ for a footy match when we're doing better, fair weather support is a fact of life I'm afraid. Get better results on the pitch and you'll fill the stands.

I only left it as it was because it made me laugh. It was one of the posts that user made that didn't just contain the words "sorry need posts"!

There's a 'thing' going around football grounds at the moment, it's not new, it's just growing for no real reason...it's called booing...

Look at Liverpool fans the other week, just because they drew at home and stayed TOP of the prem...they BOO'D...WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE !!!

My club/our club is what it is at the moment and I for one do not think any of our players step out onto the park just to pick up thier money...they may have a bad game, but while they are out there ALL i WANT TO DO AS A FAN IS GIVE SUPPORT TO MY TEAM...not slag a player off because he fluffs a chance or fails to control a ball...anyone who has ever played a game has done that at what ever level..just seems like it has become the easy option..especialy at home games......
So to get more bums on seats lets have a more positive attitude at home to raise the players confidence so we start winning games and attract more people into the stadium......:D.

Later...:).

Later...;).

if on average were only half filling the stadium why not halve the prices, get twice the ppl thru the gates, better support\atmosphere, same gatemoney plus all the extras another 16k ppl would spend, food, drinks, programs and clubshop sales, if it dont work or never fills the ground then drop it and revert to the way it is now! Big price drops along with big promo drive would fill it weekly and make the club a little more money!

I remember going up to HR mid to late seventies, every week the players came out and went round the ground throwing tops\kits\scarves\balls into the crowd, whats up with something like that give a little back, at the end of the day they only cost the club peanuts, a little more incentive to get bums on seats!

See where you are comming from MDS...was also privy to that in the 70's...;)....

But that was in an era when the Skyblues was a 'family' club and the club played to the crowd well...on the field and off the field...then we won the FA cup and attitudes changed...then we got relagated...and attitudes changed again...we thought we were on a Nationwide tour FOR one SEASON, TAKING IN THE GREAT SITES...such as Stockport (I left Brighton at 5am that morning to meet the coach at the red lion pub)...and we WON...great here we go we thought......WRONG....

So here we are several seasons later...I for one am glad I still have a club to travel up to in 2009...cutting prices or giving seats away may increase attendances slightly...but as the club still does not get any monies from the sales of food/beer inside the arena...but they would get cash from more match day program sales...:D...

Later...:).

I doubt that most clubs in the division would fill a 32,500 seater stadium week in, week out. The Ricoh is a Premiership ground, without a Premier league team. We didn't fill HR in the Championship, so we're not going to fill a bigger ground. A lot of fair-weather support I reckon drifted when we went down to the nearest Premier League side.
