The noise generated as the players come out was amazing. I think last night has to be the best ever atmosphere at the Ricoh.

The roar as the players came out was awesome, but think the Blackburn game edges it overall.

Yeah, for once the Ricoh Roar existed. It took us nine years but we finally had a brilliant atmosphere. It wasn't like that against Chelsea or Crewe, though Leeds came close.

Crewe and Chelsea the atmosphere seemed forced. Last night was a natural atmosphere.

To be fair, there have been plenty of games there where the atmosphere has been excellent, especially in the first couple of seasons when we were getting 24K+ quite regularly, but also in more recent seasons.

I remember Chris Coleman describing the Blackburn game as the best match atmosphere he had experienced in his career.

Even games like Preston in the JPT stand out, despite a relatively small crowd. Obviously, it wasn't like that often enough, but then name me a ground at this level where it isn't crap pretty much all of the time.

Your right, I think last night would have been a great atmosphere with half the crowd. So it doesn't always correlate to the size of the crowd.

I remember going to Leicester where there was a 26k silent crowd (despite them winning).

YEah true, Preston and Blackburn were good, but last night was real atmosphere, almost electric.

Obviously not, atmospheres against Chelsea and Crewe were dreadful.

To me that was the best atmosphere in terms of raw emotion and a sense of togetherness I've seen at the Ricoh. Felt at times it was reminiscent of the final day at HR (that day is still going to take some beating though!)

Last night was special and it seemed everyone was willing city on.there is something about a night game that seems to make it a better atmosphere . Obviously better when winning.the spontaneous "stand up if you love city "even got the guys in the corporate up.This ranks up there with Tand S at Arsenal IMO.
A 30 something girl sitting next to me was at her first ever game of football lives in Cov always worked on Saturday, and she wants to come again.i may even pop round and pick her up.

Not a fan of the Ricoh and the bowl until tonight, I have always harked on about HR but tonight it it seemed like home and my 8 year old loved it, just hope we can sustain the crowds but to do that we need to be in or around the top 6 all season and push for promotion, the club also needs to do more ticket promotions because they are still too high IMO. I have to say in 20 years of following the Gills I haven't experienced too many other atmospheres quite as vocal and passionate as that last night. At one point after the goal went in I did fear we might crumble in that cauldron of noise.
