People going on on Gilbert calling him a paedo mong who should fuck off and die are the absolute worst, although I did enjoy this reply. Ironing is delicious
totally agree. A simple lego headed wanker is more than sufficient.
so have wasps officially pulled out or just sighted concerns over eu complaint?
I don’t know the need to get too personal when you can call him out on his poor journalism. He was played. A proper journalist would analyse his sources and motives behind the leak instead of just chucking it out there.
If we get kicked out of the Ricoh I really hope SISU succeed in Europe.
The plastics in Coventry can slink off to supporting Man Utd and Liverpool again.
And sorry to real Wasps fans - as we clearly collateral damage to you, the demise of your team would be gleefully key by myself
I wouldn't be at all surprised if they were fully on board with the set up of a new Hoffman lead club to play at the Ricoh and their recent relative silence is them keeping their powder dry til our groundshare is announced. Then there'll be the fanfare and the announcement of AFC Coventry Hornets and how we should all back this new team in Coventry. With Wasps, Council, Trust, Hoffman's consortium all in on it.
There's been too much flat batting questions away recently from all of those parties, makes me suspicious that they're all following the agreed party line. Force the club out by not negotiating and start over with a new one.
Think he's had a go on the CCFC one as well. He's also written his own reviews on Amazon!I’m sure Simon has written his own Wiki page. You’d think from that he is Bob Woodward.
I think part of it is that the local media were happy to sit on the story regarding the ACL bail out which led to Wasps takeover for the benefit of CCC / Wasps but don't give a second thought to the potential damage to CCFC putting something like this out.I don't even understand why people are annoyed at him.
Do these people that quite obviously want this realise that "AFC Coventry Hornets" would have to start at virtually the bottom of non-league football, a consortium would not be needed (apart from to probably pay for ridiculous costs on matchdays) as players like their mate Dave from the pub would be on £20 a game - and would be being payed £20 more than every player they are playing against! The standard would be horrific and going away would involve basically standing in a field to watch games.... brilliant eh!!??I posted this a month ago and am still fairly convinced this will happen if we are forced out of the city in an attempt to mop up all the fans who hate SISU more than they love CCFC.
Wasps are here because sisu screwed up over the ricoh, it does not matter which negative subject you choose to debate over the past few years but sisu are the common denominator, they have no allies in anything they do, nobody wants to deal with them and they are basically horrible. I have said this before but I think we were lucky that it was a rugby club that jumped in and took the ricoh, if it had been another football club then they would have worked a lot harder to get rid of us and we would be dead and buried already.
We can keep talking and wasting time on CCC and now Wasps but we wont change anything for either of them. We were banking on Wasps being in financial issues and needing us at the ricoh to be able to survive, if this really is the case they wouldn't have backed out of talks so easily or looked for an easy way out if that is what you want to believe. Bottom line is that we need new owners now or this really could be the final nail.

I think there is a perception that a walk up the leagues would be a formality, Hoffman sponsoring back to back promotion parties and spunking millions on Jermaine Pennant and Adam Rooney.Do these people that quite obviously want this realise that "AFC Coventry Hornets" would have to start at virtually the bottom of non-league football, a consortium would not be needed (apart from to probably pay for ridiculous costs on matchdays) as players like their mate Dave from the pub would be on £20 a game - and would be being payed £20 more than every player they are playing against! Why? Wasps have now said they won't talk while 'proceedings surround our acquisition and ownership of the Ricoh Arena', a nice vague statement that could cover pretty much anything, certainly much wider ranging than their previous terms, which the club / SISU met.you do know why wasps won’t deal with sisu don’t you? if sisu weren’t here we would be at the Ricoh 1 million percent. It’s that simple
I posted this a month ago and am still fairly convinced this will happen if we are forced out of the city in an attempt to mop up all the fans who hate SISU more than they love CCFC.
Yes, those with no knowledge of non league football (most likely a large percentage of those wanting this!) realise that there are many many chairmen that have thrown thousands of pounds trying to go through the leagues... VERY FEW have been successful, and those that have EG wimbledon, took 7 or so years and did it at a time before money was even more prevalent in non league football.I think there is a perception that a walk up the leagues would be a formality, Hoffman sponsoring back to back promotion parties and spunking millions on Jermaine Pennant and Adam Rooney.

That's what concerns me about Hoffman. The council / Wasps / ACL seem very keen to get him in, what has he agreed to?The only thing Wasps want is more subservient tenants, I’m all for new owners as long as they fight for our true value. Not whatever pittance wasps decide to give us

I’d hope there’s a 50/50 partnership agreed - as much as I hate the idea, that’s the very least we’d need. That's what concerns me about Hoffman. The council / Wasps / ACL seem very keen to get him in, what has he agreed to?
If I remember - the council were never entertaining a deal on the scale of wasps purchase, and were never going to negotiate the rent.Let's remember when people talk about SISU "should have bought the stadium when they had chance" and "should have negotiated a better deal", they ignore who the chairman was at that point
council do not want a prosperous ccfc because that would mean council lose out the greedy cuntsIf I remember - the council were never entertaining a deal on the scale of wasps purchase, and were never going to negotiate the rent.
It’s the only reason the council agreed to our sale to SISU.
I don't even understand why people are annoyed at him.
a) It happened
b) Do we really credit Wasps with being so remarkably stupid they didn't expect any further action wrt the Ricoh?
The only thing that bugs me is that I seem to recall he defended the CET when they withheld the Les Reid story about the £14 million taxpayer bailout of ACL.
I'm all for open journalism and letting the truth out come what may, but it's difficult not to see a degree of pro-council bias in the differences in the way that the respective stories have been handled. And I always sense with Simon Gilbert that he wants to make himself part of the story too, which isn't uncommon amongst journalists nowadays, perhaps...
This is a fun thread to watch unfold
He had the audacity to challenge me, so I couldn't leave it alone. :emoji_kissing_heart:
Sisu fully gone behind everyone’s back here they only have themselves to blame they’ve been caught out
My dentist does not approve. This appears to be the best reply to you
Obviously not. It might have made it easier to get a protest going, mind you. And that might have had a result in helping change views or, at the very least, showing there were some angry and upset people about. So being upfront even if that’s what happened with their intent would have solved the problem?
