Perhaps we are going to have to play our first 23 games away from home, until somewhere else is agreed, or a new stadium is built out of Lego. First game at the Ricoh, shared stadium or The Lego Arena just after Christmas, to coincide with Santa delivering the final sack of Lego floodlights.
The Lego arena will take a long time to come to fruition. Gilbert’s hair doesn’t grow at sufficient speed to keep up with the supply of the materials required to complete the build in a reasonable time.

Confirmed on the club website. They're pushing it as a backup.

I guess in theory the EFL would let them switch to the Ricoh at any point, after all we came back once the season had already started.

At some point though they're going to have to put season tickets on sale.
Coventry City can confirm that the planned English Football League EGM and vote regarding the Club’s place in the EFL has now been cancelled.

This is because the Club has met the EFL’s criteria regarding ensuring a venue for matches next season and the ability to fulfil fixtures, by now having a groundshare venue and agreement in place.

This groundshare is in place to make sure the Club has somewhere to play in the scenario of a deal to play at the Ricoh Arena not being agreed.

We can confirm that talks with the aim to achieve a deal to play at the Ricoh Arena are continuing between Coventry City Football Club, its owners SISU and Wasps Holdings Limited.

Our focus and desire is to agree a deal at the Ricoh Arena - this is everyone's preferred option, and the right option for Coventry City. While the backup of a groundshare exists to ensure the future of the Football Club continues, another groundshare is not something anyone wants to happen.

Details of the agreed groundshare and of our ongoing discussions with Wasps Holdings Limited remain confidential, due to mutually signed confidentiality agreements.

We understand the frustration that fans are feeling, and have expressed to us, at not knowing where their Club will be playing next season, not being able to plan for next season and supporting Mark Robins and the team, and the time that this is taking.

We will provide a further update to supporters as soon as we are able to.

So according to the Observer, Wasps want Sisu to cover any indemnities which may incur as a result of the EU action. That ain't going to happen... Nor should it, that could kill the football club.

Don’t the EFL need to know for planning fixtures too? Or maybe they can take either location into account

Well it seems Wasps ignore the fixtures anyway and just make us move to whenever they like so they just plan to to clash with Brum and that'll work wherever we end up.

I assume they plan as if we are at the Ricoh and then games are moved if we end up sharing

And still no sign of season tickets going on sale!
This could seriously impact our recruitment now.
Ffs, we literally couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery!

How can they sell season tickets when Wasps are trying to hold the club to ransom?

Just read on another thread people think wasps have softened their stance & deal at Ricoh will be announced...so which one is it ???

Sisu have had to get a groundshare deal in place just in case it does fall through thinking about it I still think Ricoh deal will be sorted next week

That was my point!
I’ll spell it out for you next time.
You moaned season tickets weren't on sale but how can they without a ground to play at. I fully understood what you wrote. Its like complaining you can't go and watch a film before it's release date. Idiot

Oh ffs,

Right, the ongoing uncertainty as to the venue for our home games next season, means that there is still no sign of season tickets being offered for sale anytime soon. One does wonder when this impasse will end, and one worries that the lack of vital revenue such tickets would normally supply, will have a negative effect on the managers transfer budget.

Is that better for you. Thick fucking twat!

Without reading all the thread the forum appears to have descended into arguments, the same path as Twitter, Facebook and every other forum.

Am I surprised by this, no, does today’s update change anything, no.

I said on another thread Thursday that I still think we will be at the Ricoh come the start of the season, I do believe that is still going to be the case.

Even if it transpires that we end up playing a season in Birmingham I couldn’t really care less anymore, as both sides (SISU and Wasps) don’t care about the City of Coventry or the population, or even fans who travel from far and wide - as proven this morning as both sides are still seeking conditions to conclude a deal, looking to benefit in a bad situation.

The things Mark Robins is doing are brilliant, we only just missed out on playoffs last season and given the resources and support he will get us to the Championship and I have enjoyed watching that team play Football and would love to see it develop further into a clinical and successful side that we can all be proud of.

One wonders whether they really give a shit about season ticket sales at all.
