The last few years at HR had averages of well over 20k

No they didn't, our last 2 seasons at HR were 14,816 (03/04) and 16,047 (04/05) it wasnt until we moved to the ricoh did our attendances shot up 21,301 (05/06) and 20,342 (06/07) then 19,123 (07/08).

And even then he's talking about the home element of those attendances.

Sorry, should have said premiership.

I believe there is still a small number who boycott games because of their personal antipathy towards our owners and others who may not buy season tickets because of stories in the media about the clubs solvency but the vast majority of fans decision to attend matches is simply based by success on the pitch, no matter who the owners are. No one goes to matches to support the owners (or even our landlords) but to support the team and its results on the pitch that will put bums back on seats.

Why does everybody have to give up their "hard-earned" to go to the football.?

Must be some people surely who skive off a bit at work and do just enough to get paid.

Being a dustman must be harder work for you since you were privatised, so can understand your bitterness.

Can't argue with that. Got to admit you're jealous though.
I know I am.

I'm a public sector worker. But at least I'm not a racist.

A point I was going to make, Dongo. You beat me to it. I was also going to point out who educated him. But I don't think anyone did.

I get much more holidays than teachers.....only work an average 142 shifts a year. On my first holiday of the year now :D And yes I work in the private sector.

The hardest-earned money is when you win pretty big on those quiz machines in pubs, but then that just ends up going back in. Vicious circle.

The state of the clubs finances will obviously be a factor on attendances, especially season ticket sales which are more 'thoughtful purchases'. If we are skint, cant invest in any real quality and have lots of loan players [we may lose like McG] it just drains confidence and hope more.. adds another negative to the 30 year cov fan depression!

...and let's be aware out attendances may be decent now but they will drop year on year of we stay in this Div, no doubts.
We need hope on the pitch and off it to start re-building support.

Hopefully ACL agreeing a fair rent will be a start.

Don't know if this has already been said (can't be bothered reading the whole thread) but Sisu would reject a "rent free" offer if it did not include some sort of stadium ownership. That is all they are after thus giving them something to sell on.

Have they actually said this or is this speculation?

I'd like to see you do without the public sector. Why not try it and take your own rubbish to the tip rather than leaving it out.

Boring for you maybe, not for me.

of course they have not said that BUT you don't have to be a genius to know how these people operate. They are a hedge fund and as such are in it for quick profit. This CCFC investment has not gone according to plan, they are therefore looking at an exit strategy and a football club with part or whole ownership of its stadium is clearly worth more than one that has neither.

They are in it for quick profit yet have lost money in all of the last 5 years.

Explain?

Yes I know; but do you think that that was their initial plan??? I don't think so. They have got themselves in a real mess here and are trying to find an end game.
