Dante was a bit too cheerful but I didn't pick up on him as that obvious as until yesterday I didn't realise he was even a brand new character this season, there are so many anonymous background characters I would have believed it if someone told me he's been there for five years.

I wouldn't have clocked him either if he hasn't have been so weirdly eccentric and ...ummm.....just weird.

Had him targeted from the off, personally

Fucking amazing episode that. Great way to kick off the reboot. Bit of a weird moment though! Everyone will know when they see it

Hoping Carol gets killed next now.
Yeah and in-between episodes.and off-screen would be nice.

Just someone comes running back to Hilltop and says she was run over by an ice cream van or something.

And he reversed back over her just to be sure.

I enjoyed it, but am finding the whole 'we' re sitting ducks and there's nothing we can do about it' concept, all a little tiresome now.

What were they putting petrol in? Looked like organs. I think the lady Eugene speaks to on’t radio is in the same place as old Rick. And Eugene, upon realising, will be like oh my days.

Not unexpected though.

I think it was portrayed as a shock, twist ending, but we all thought it was sure-fire certainty didn't we?

Also, it was blatantly obvious that Lydia was not in that building and somewhere else wasn't it?

For me, Daz, I would say just quite good, unfortunately.

I just think I have seen it all now a thousand times and no twist ever surprises me anymore and I never for a single second believed that Negan
had switched sides.

I did not believe for a single second that
Lydia was in any danger whatsoever

And the thing is, if you are expecting everything, there is very little tension to be found.

Sorry, ranty mood...... Ha...... The pile of walkers as a barrier scenario, I have have been screaming at the screen about for an absolute age.

You kill a walker, the walker falls to the ground. The walker behind, then trips over the dead walker and you kill that walker. One walker on top of another. After so many, you have built yourselves a walker wall with none of them being able to get through.

First time in 8 years or whatever it is, that, that has clicked.

I am enjoying it, but it is a pale shadow of what it used to be, and still don't have an ounce of care for Eugene and Carol is still annoying as hell.

The Earl thing I saw a mile off and the same last week when they 'killed' Beta and then he suddenly grabbed an ankle after he was dead. Oh shock, surprise! He wasn't actually dead at all.

It's keeping my interest, but I am not at all excited to watch it anymore. No surprises to be found.

I knew that moment was coming in some way as I've read past this point already, but I think the TV show did it better than print in this case.

I just feel other series have been padded out but not this one
Agree on that, Daz. Padless so far. Long may it continue. It's usually about now they do start padding though. I fear a long drawn out Eugene love story coming.

Pass me the bucket.

Carol
and
Negan
sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g!

We knew he was up to something!

Earl’s
was a bit grim and gloomy

Been really happy with this season. Yes there are still the stupid things that irritate, but on the whole it's been good. I didn't realise this but theres lots of stuff going on in the background between the Network and Kirkman ( IMO this is part of the reason why he finished the Comics so abruptly) also, the Rick Grimes films have gone quiet, personally I would prefer them to be shelved, and have his story via the TV programme, surely if he's agreed to do the film's, he can come back to do some episodes.

Yeah, I am not over-enamoured at the thought of the Rick Grimes films, even though Rick is one of my favourite characters and I was sad to see his demise.

For me, where TWD used to be a regular 8 to 8.5 out of 10, it has now become a 6 to 7 out of 10, with many substandard episodes to boot.

Luckily, they seemed to have eliminated the poorer episodes in this current season.

I do think the new regular characters are a lot weaker than the much stronger ones we had before. Glenn, Maggie, Rick, Michonne, Abraham, Tara etc.

I quite like Luke, but find Yumiko and Kelly rather bland and then of course, I have never liked Eugene and Carol has just become very whiney, whingey, annoying.

Are they doing another spinoff series too? I've not seen Fear but with the main series having a bit of a dip not too long ago it feels like they're spreading it a bit thin.

Agree about the characters. Think they need to add in some new blood, but not like previously where they have added 20 at once, but they need to introduce some new leaders.

I hope Ezekiel dies as i have never liked his character. I quite like Eugene, especially more so recently. Magna and Connie have been good characters to have been added. And lydia plays her role well, but none of them quite have the same gravitas as Glenn, Abraham, Rick etc as you say.

I think Maggie rejoining the show will be good, but they need to add 2 new strong leads to me just to add a bit of life back into the story, especially with Michonne's last episode being Monday. In an ideal world Rick would rejoin the series- although is unlikely to ever happen.

Meh!

Some good bits, but I hate all the signalling. All the swirling fanfare music and really playing on the fact a major character is leaving. Building up to the inevitable demise. Layered on thick like treacle.

Totally spoiled what could have been an excellent episode.

Didn’t enjoy that episode to be honest
Could have been good, Daz, but they wallowed in sentimentality.

And Michonne leaving her children behind for a bloke who is presumed dead, was just daft.

Could have just as easily have had her wake up unconscious in that boat, out at sea in the middle of nowhere, not knowing how to get back.

I don't like the episodes they purposely put in to have a break from the main story, kills the momentum.
