Keown is decent and in fairness to them I thought it was a goal at first too.
I think Jonathon Pearce and Keown have been to the Eakin school of commentary.
Pearce doesn't know who's playing, and they call goal when it was obviously wide.

All of us. I did think they would do okay and maybe quality for the knockout phase, but never dreamed they would thrash anyone.Had Russia down as poss runners up but more likely 3rd. First game showed how wrong I am

Thought the whole point was they could identify things during the game.Is there actually reason the VAR officials can't say to the ref that a player has clearly dived and should be booked? Or can they apply it after the game using the video footage? Just seems incredulous that there wasn't a yellow for it.
