The independent panel has upheld Leicester's appeal on the grounds that, when the charge was issued a few months ago, they were in the EFL and therefore the PL didn't have jurisdiction.

That's all fine but I don't see why the charge cannot be reissued now that Leicester are back in the PL, so surely the PL does have jurisdiction.

It's not when the charge was issued, it's that the final month of the 3 year accounting period in which they cheated, they were not members of the EPL.

And they deliberately extended ending their years accounting period (after all previous sets of year end accounts were submitted without having the extra month added!!!) to exploit this.
They knew what they were doing....
Cheating c-units...

Yep you fcuckers found out before me!

Considering we finished fifth in 2019/20 and 2020/21 - losing out on top four and CL money due to the huge cheating Man City - they must have felt sorry for us 😉

Leicester won there case ,the rules were not drafted well as for Man City have you seen the evidence or on the ruling panel , of course not.

Fuck! Hadn't realised that, but you're right. So this was their plan all along.

From the PL comments this isn't over:

"Reacting to its decision, the Premier League added: "If the Appeal Board is correct, its decision will have created a situation where any club exceeding the PSR threshold could avoid accountability in these specific circumstances.

"This is clearly not the intention of the rules.""

Another reason why FFP is a farce and should just be dropped. It’s different over every league

it’s just a pointless endeavour at the moment. Purely designed to benefit the status quo.

didn’t they argue that the accounting period was for the premier league incidentally? And that’s why the EFL couldn’t charge them? Brilliant - if so

Honestly mate it has been.

PL win, FA Cup win, CL quarter finals - never in our wildest dreams!

And then getting relegated on purpose just to win another trophy and beat the rules.

Super stuff 😂
The clap you got from your sister levelled things up though fella ;)

People wonder why the Man City cases are taking so long they will have their lawyers looking for anything that could be wrong and they will find loads I guess.

I have no faith that they have a case against Man City. You’d think the Leicester case would be so shut and dry that they couldn’t possibly fuck it up. Absolutely toothless.

What’s the point trying to be a championship club aiming for promotion trying to recruit sensibly and sell on to do things the correct way, when these state owned/billionaire backed clubs can just do as they please and then bring in the best legal representation to find any loophole.

lot of bitterness and jealousy on here - not one of you would be bothered if we’d have done this.

FFP is horseshit and should be dropped. Only have to go back a few years back when technically we should have been kicked out the league for not having a home ground.

Remember how we took the piss out of Walsall when we played at Northampton but had Callum Wilson and Leon Clarke up front - they were arguing how we were passing FFP with crowds of 1k
