I was always amazed it was still standing. Seems like the slightest breeze would blow it down. Student accommodation then.

Just what this city needs, more student accommodation!!

Who's going to want to live on one of the busiest roundabouts in the city?

Yesterday people were moaning about low density housing on greenfield in Kerseley. Today they are moaning about a high-density city centre brownfield development. I guess what people really want is less people.

Seems like a high-quality residential scheme, the sort of thing you see in cities up and down the country. These will all sell off plan for private rental market.

They won’t build it for no reason. They must be pretty confident that they’ll have tenants.

Can you lot not read articles? The new flats are for private sale and NOT for Students.

Oh and it is a shame to lose Elliott’s, been there forever.

While this is largely true there is potential for a collapse.
There are multinational companies doing extremely well out of it but it could get to saturation point with more and more towns and Cities getting in on the a act .
Or one piece of Govt legislation could jepeordise the whole field.
I'm sure however if the worst did happen the local population could benifit with a few alteratuons .

Is it the one across from it that's for students? Maybe that's confusing some people (or maybe they just want a rant!)

Yeah the one being built across is students.

And as someone in the market for a three bed near Warwick University: fuck everyone who has an issue with people building student flats. Have you seen the rental prices in Cannon Park? Rather have them in a shitty tower block than a family home.

Hmmm. Sixteen stories though. Twice the height of the flats in Spon End. The height of the tower at Massey's for anyone who remembers that. That is a hugely dominant structure that I can't quite see as in context for that location. Where the hell is everyone going to park?

I'm old enough to remember the last time this came around, we'll all live in the skies they said. It'll be ripped down within 20 years. ;)

It is but well expensive from what i can remember. Got 2 headlight bulbs on ebay last week..4 quid. Elliotts would of been little change from £20.

I’m assuming then that you used Elliott’s regularly then?

If the amount of people moaning actually used the place and made it a profitable business maybe it wouldn’t have been sold.

Just a thought.
