Why are children over say 8 being taken to school? Aren’t they capable of getting there themselves
Would you trust an 8 year old to negotiate a main road, the way that some people drive these days? Why are children over say 8 being taken to school? Aren’t they capable of getting there themselves
tbf, half of them are rushing to get their children to school before going on to workWould you trust an 8 year old to negotiate a main road, the way that some people drive these days?
Clearly not on it's knee's, Got one on here rejoicing about his half days and how short his days are.
Apparently the SAS use this:Fucking midge bites. Went to the park last night for the military fitness class, didn't have any deet spray. Absolutely covered in bites today, itching like fuck.
If you live a 10 minute walk from school the difference will be negligible
Surely a teacher has to be on time for lessons?
To nhs you can add a lot of the public sectorBin workers are decent people. It's the management at the top that keeps making cuts and demands, and yet management's pay and bonuses never get any cuts.....
On the subject of robbing a living I know people in the NHS that earn £50k a year and do very little. If public money is going to be wasted so easily the least you can do is make sure that some of the top layer of management are earning some of their ticket to an easy lifestyle.
With the prospect of a Conservative government for decades it’s inevitable that eventually it’ll end up completely privatised, IMO.To nhs you can add a lot of the public sector
Time in lieu, pension schemes that don’t exist anywhere else, top of the range phones.laptops etc. And gross inefficiency
This is not the average worker’s fault but those at the very top who are scared of doing anything except arguing that more money is needed.

Only place I’ve seen most of those things is private sector. Every public sector org I’ve seen is significantly more efficient for a start.
I’d give you the pensions but nothings stopping you from collectivising and negotiating benefits in your industry. The answer is to demand better yourself not try and drag everyone down because you got a shit deal.
Again, Doctors.
Can't book an appointment in advance so have to ring up.
Been on hold 10 minutes and I am still 12 in the queue, this is just to see if I can make an appointment. They might be all gone.
GPs are just a bunch of cowards hiding behind their phones.
30 minutes on hold now, just to see if there's any appointments.
mmm! difference is shareholders versus accountability . take NHS which is only just about coming into collective buying - They are only just about sorting their procurement side out now, and there are still so many of the wasteful contracts/agreementsOnly place I’ve seen most of those things is private sector. It'll be 20 minutes minus the usual journey time from home to school, minus the time spent sitting in the additional traffic if commuting during the school run.The difference will be twenty minutes. You and my boss have different definitions of negligible.

I very occassionally quote end-users within the NHS to supply spare parts on lab instruments that are out of warranty/contract.......more often than not, I then re-quote the same part & price to a procurement company who purchase it on the NHS behalf.....
...all they actually do is add about a 3 week delay, an additional layer of admin & anywhere between 50% - 100% mark-up.

OK I’ll give you my example. I live a 15-20 min walk from school (possibly more with six year old speed). The drive takes 5 mins and is on the way to work.
Walking: 15 there + 15 back + 5 driving to get to the school on my way back
Driving: 5 driving to the school.
There is no time saved by traffic with a 15 min difference, traffic is bad over half an hour after I drop my daughter off anyway.
So I lose fifteen minutes of prep time and the fifteen minutes walk back when I’m already coming in later than my boss would like.
I drive my daughter to school if I'm off work .
Takes about 8 minutes to walk , but I save a whole 6 minutes each way driving .. massively lazy bastard but I don't care
