I don't wish to be uncharitable, but Deborah James.
I wish the MSM would just shut up about her. Over 400 people A DAY die from cancer in the UK. People who have lived good lives. People whose families loved them and miss them more than anything in the world. People who have left legacies to cancer charities in their will and who families donate untold millions to charities as a result of their disease. People whose families and friends are cut to the heart when they hear the meedja luvvies bleating on about ONE woman who just happened to have powerful contacts and had a job which allowed her to raise the profile of bowel cancer when they could not.
She did lots that was good, she has now died, that's sad and i feel sorry for those who knew her and miss her from their lives, but give the sanctification a rest.
So if she did lots of good why would you bother writing a post like this?
The fact that she got into the media and helped spread the word, and particularly the podcast she did, should be celebrated and will have no doubt saved numerous lives.
My Missus’ mate who had cancer at the time said the podcast was an amazing source of help and actually made her look at living rather than just thinking about dying. You can’t quantify how many people she has helped and supported in many different ways.
The fact is she wanted to use herself as an example to help save others when I can imagine it would have been very easy to hide away and not want to face the world.
That should be celebrated and her legacy will live on and continue to save lives and the more people who do it the better IMO.
