How do you reconcile them imparting private details through hints and innuendo about their relationships with other members of their family? Isn't that intruding on *their* private life through the media?
Now tbf I can see there's a message to put out there, but I can't quite see how airing your dirty laundry works for anybody really.
Without defending either side or excusing anyone’s actions, they presumably see it as the only way to fight back against the royal family and the tabloid press in a symmetrical way.How do you reconcile them imparting private details through hints and innuendo about their relationships with other members of their family? Or is it just for the money?Without defending either side or excusing anyone’s actions, they presumably see it as the only way to fight back against the royal family and the tabloid press in a symmetrical way.
It definitely doesn’t hurt! But both things can be true at the same time.Or is it just for the money?
That depends if you believe their “truth” or not.It definitely doesn’t hurt! But both things can be true at the same time.
No, I just mean that regardless of whether or not they’re telling the truth - they might just be doing it because it’s the only way to fight back on a level playing field. Or they might just be doing it for the money. Or it could be both things at once! Obviously people with strong opinions on them will lean towards one or the other (I’m not one of them)That depends if you believe their “truth” or not.
I just find it distasteful how 2 highly privileged people are telling the world how tough life is (while making 100m usd for doing it)No, I just mean that regardless of whether or not they’re telling the truth - they might just be doing it because it’s the only way to fight back on a level playing field. How do you know he's being controlled?Anybody else not that arsed about them?
I feel sorry for Harry, he's obviously fallen for her and is now being controlled.
How do you know he's being controlled?
I don't see how anyone of us could know that unless they know them personally - it's a narrative that the tabloid press has pushed.
Regardless of them wanting publicity like
most celebrities do, its obsessive rolling coverage is still unhinged and not normal.
You must have some good connections to them if you’ve got that level of insight into their relationship dynamics.
I fall into this ballpark. Not really fussed by them enough to ‘pick a side’. They can do what they like. Just the fact that the narrative is “outsider comes in and steals unsuspecting prince” I find weird. Do we assume this because he’s now a mature man who doesn’t hop round dressed as a nazi?
Others might disagree - but even if it was, so what?its very tame coverage to years gone by
Well no. The difference between choosing to do media and having someone spy on your private life is quite large.
I can’t stand any of the Royals, this isn’t a defence of the people, but just because someone is in the public eye doesn’t give the public complete access to their lives. That’s tabloid spin you’re falling for.
I feel like Manchester has overcooked this whole cycle lane thing nowHell of a lot of these springing up near me in south Manchester, can't seem to get them down quick enough. Does mean you have to watch out if you're turning into, say, the petrol station that you've checked there's no-one flying down the cycle lane. Also redoing a lot of junctions and crossroads with a new "Cyclops" junction

Others might disagree - but even if it was, so what?
I’m not sure I see your point - tabloid coverage of Fergie was indefensible at times and so is their coverage of Meghan. The point is that vilification on non heir royals isn’t a novel idea. 83% wanting sex with a goat as the duchess of pork as an example
The irony is if they got their wish and were never covered again in the media they’d have nothing to do and
No publicity is bad publicity and bad publicity makes them £80 million on Netflix.
We will know when things are getting bad when they parade on big brother wearing crowns as in the end that’s their “talent” - being ex royals - there’s no other interest in this dull duo
Well you said some might disagree - i think that’s far worseI’m not sure I see your point - tabloid coverage of Fergie was indefensible at times and so is their coverage of Meghan.
For a bunch of people who don't like them you all seem to know a lot about them and what's in their documentary
Of course, but surely they’re entitled to push back against coverage they don’t like, or is clearly unacceptable? Even if you don’t think it’s warranted or smart of them to do so, I’m not sure how else you go about doing that.my point is without such coverage they’d have nothing to make money from
Also there’s the annoying phrase “their truth” what does that nonsense even mean

Well I probably wouldn’t do something for free if I knew I could get paid £100m for it either. They wouldn’t push back without being paid
I haven't fallen for any tabloid spin.
I couldn't have cared less about them, but I saw this documentary and thought it was pathetic. Some of the stuff they were whinging about was minor, and all this desperation for a private life would win a lot more sympathy with me if they actually were just trying to stay under the radar rather than pushing out documentaries.
That isn't to say at times there hasn't been some really nasty and invasive media. I'm well aware that there has been.
I’ve not seen it, i don’t follow the royals. just seems your argument is if people have a public profile then they can’t complain about invasions of privacy, is that fair?
Haven't seen it.They've said they want privacy, but continue to do everything possible to keep a public profile. Some of the things they were complaining about in the documentary (which you admit you haven't seen) is total nonsense. It isn't all drones flying over their luxury villa or white transit vans following them, much of it is largely low level exposure and things like people writing tweets. They have made a documentary, people tweet about it, they complain. It's pathetic.
They are a bunch of whiney cry babies with a massive amount of privilege and zero self awareness. That doesn't mean that it is ok to spy on them, but that isn't the point I am making.
The only thing it is is under fundedThe comparison shouldn't be UK versus US health system. The world round knows the latter is a shambles.
The problem is that the UK health care system is essentially collapsing and in a lot of senses is no longer fit for purpose. We are in a massive mental health crisis too, and they can't help people. It's run appallingly and has gotten so much worse as the years have gone by. Mismanaged like hell, and with so many people arriving into the UK, the demand is getting higher as the general resources are being cut simultaneously.
The only thing it is is under funded
Which bad management? Citation neededThe only thing? I would say the bad management is worse than the funding issues, as bad as they also are. They waste so much money.

My friend use to deliver for the NHS. He once had 8 cages going to the same hospital with 1 thing in each that would fit into 1 cage which stopped other cages fitting in the same lorry that were going to the same hospital so a 2nd lorry had to deliver the extra cages. He also sometimes did runs in a 7.5 tonne van to smaller hospitals & GP surgeries and delivered a tin of coffee and a box of pens to a GP's in Oxford. The way funding is split mainly and what the money is spent on. Contracts for equipment and construction are like gravy trains and handed out on insanely expensive deals. Every medical supplier in the world is falling over trying to get an NHS contract.
There's also far too many middle management roles which aren't doing a lot too. Also far too many consultants on daily rates which are astronomical. The fact then proper nurses and paramedics aren't getting paid a decent wage is pretty awful.
The whole thing is run horrendously.
I used to get that at the co-op. Annoying. My friend use to deliver for the NHS.
