Same as people who go on about how they’ve never done some popular thing. At the moment it’s watched Friends. See also GoT, any reality TV, etc etc.
 
I've seen a lot of weird edgy contrarians take the death of Matthew Perry as the perfect time to announce that Friends was actually rubbish or hasn't aged well or is problematic or whatever else. Such brave souls with their unique and timely takes

I don't have a printer as I use one so infrequently the heads dry out and they stop working. Also it would be pretty easy to forge a self printed statement so is hardly proof of anything.

I mean it’s accepted. I haven’t had paper bills for years and never had any issue just emailing across a PDF I got from the app 🤷🏻‍♂️

Both Lloyds and Nationwide insisted on me visiting them in person, neither would accept evidence online.

Same here!

I tried to stop it but they made it impossible. When I shared a house our account was under my name, but we changed suppliers and cancelled. Moved into my own place and got Virgin again, only to find out I can't control my new account online because my email address is still linked to the old account that they never actually closed. Spent ages talking to someone to essentially just get shrugged at.
 
It looks like you might have scared them off. If I see it happen again I’ll post it.
 
Advert again for me. This time the magnum mini one and on more than 1 level. If someone ate an ice cream near me and made that noise I would kill them. I think the ad is disingenuous as she is supposed to be eating a magnum mini & it looks like a normal magnum. Finally it is about my dislike of all magnums and other products sold as ice creams that aren't. Magnums are made in a factory alongside paint stripper, washing up liquid and other chemical products and the difference between it and them are just different chemicals. There is no cream in them and just a small percentage of dried milk powder which is why they can't put on the packaging "dairy ice cream". Buy dairy ice cream, not this shit!

TBF the difference between you and paint stripper is also different chemicals…

Though I agree about real ice cream.
 
Just the amount of negativity online.

Fire up X or tiktok for even a minute and it's all about protests and our country is in danger etc and then the comments is all racism and fear.

Makes you worried about the world and the people you walk past every day.

So I just uninstall the app again and meditate and realise probably more normal people out there that don't post comments online.

One day I won't be tempted to check it at all.

HSBC web chat agent. Spent an hour arguing about how my direct debit was more than it should be - and crucially more than my account said it would be when I checked online, which I said numerous times - until he finally says "I cannot see your account, only your statement, so you'll have to speak to our specialist team".

Why not fucking say that at the start instead of us going round in circles?!

Yeah I do. Check it once in a while. Was some funny teacher tiktoks someone sent me so reinstalled it to view. But pretty soon after just kept coming up with marches in London or polish prime minister

It's uninstalled again!

The default TikTok algorithm is fucking weird. Definitely tuned to shall we say the lowest common denominator. It seems to know your gender and location and that’s about it.

YouTube is at least fairly sane until you start feeding it.

That's strange, I use X and instagram reels more than anything and neither show me any of that. In fact it's where I go to avoid it.

Tbh I rarely, if ever, look at the news in any format so it probably just never enters my algorithm.

It recommends short wave radio videos for me, along with Lego. It's only a matter of time before it shows me a short wave radio made out of Lego.

Facebook keeps suggesting posters I've never heard of, who live half way round the world and aren't on any friend's list as 'people you may know'.
