Stocking levels should be what it's used for but I used to get plenty of choice at Tesco cannon park with me mum, absolutely rammed both shoppers and shelves in70-80's,take about an hour all told, how has it changed we've taken the guesswork out of it with definite numbers and no people interactions, how is it a benifit?

While we're talking about personalised product recommendations why is Apple so bad at this?
How hard can it be to have a decent recommendation service for music, tv, books etc given I'm 100% locked into the Apple eco system and they know exactly what I'm consuming.
We have a family friend who was something connected to military intelligence and the GPS system. In response to this question, he said "What gave you the impression that they *weren't*?"I used to work with somebody who was convinced the government were reading his emails.
I struggle with all the streaming services tbh. I ditched Amazon unlimited, Apple and Spotify as they were all too "US-centric" with their playlists and stations. I'm with Youtube Music at the moment but it keeps regurgitating the same tracks when i would rather it gave me a bit wider scope. The only one i haven't tried is Deezer, but i don't know if i listen to enough music to warrant the cost.I switched to Apple Music from YouTube Music and the recommendations are so bad I’ve considered switching back even though I get Apple Music essentially free.
Last.fm used to be great for recommendations but I can't get it to work at all since I've moved from iTunes to Apple MusicI struggle with all the streaming services tbh. Spotify basically does a similar thing to last now anyway with the "Play [song name] radio"Last.fm used to be great for recommendations but I can't get it to work at all since I've moved from iTunes to Apple Music
No idea how that hasn't either be bought by Apple or them being able to implement similar functionality. It seems like such a basic feature to have on a music streaming service
You're so far wrong unless you have only been to Paris or other big cities. The same as the UK. Everybody welcomes you with a hello even when passing in the street. I have lived in France since March. We moved into our present home in June. Such a lifestyle change. But of course tou get the occasional idiot. We have had nothing but people offering to help. Boxes of home grown fruit and veg left by the front gate and no idea who from.Really you must have missed France on your travels. Worked extensively in both countries and know which I prefer. One country are arrogant and so far up their own backsides and the other are belgian

Next door to us are Belgians. It is their holiday home. We get together each time they are here. Lovely family. They speak better English than me
We're now trying to work out which new year invitation we are going to accept. We're the only Brits where we live but have been made to feel very welcome.
My wife and kids have been here since 2019. None of us will ever go back to live in the UK.
We now live in the Indre. We're on the edge of a national park. We used to live near Montmorillon. Nearest town now is Chaillac. Large British population. I wanted to be with the natives though.Think I asked you before, but where do you live in France?
Agree with what you said at the start. I am not a fan of the really massive cities (Paris is not only overrated but I feel pretty horrible), but the towns and rural areas are absolutely lovely. Drive down to Spain most years and really ought to stop in more places and spend a little time.
Having your fucking car declared a fucking write off just after fucking ChristmasTwats driving too fast down icy country lanes, not being able to stop and scraping a trailer down your front bumper, both doors and ripping your back bumper off.
Not making it then?Having your fucking car declared a fucking write off just after fucking Christmas
Used to have a bit of a thing for chyna back on the day , tragic ending for her
Cheers mate, £9k of damage all in apparently. Luckily my insurance are paying out above the settlement figure for the finance so I'm not out of pocket. Still an absolute ball ache! Not making it then?
Feel your pain, hope your settled quickly.
Down to your sellers to fix it unless you have completed the purchase. Some lousy rat has smashed the window on the side door to the house we are buying the never got in I think it was kids messing about
Yea but he’s away on holiday got in contact with him and going through his insurance but we paid for the boarding up to be done last night and he will reimburseDown to your sellers to fix it unless you have completed the purchase.
As long as damage is repairable and is covered by whatever payout you will get can you keep a car that is written off & just get it fixed yourself?Having your fucking car declared a fucking write off just after fucking Christmas
£5 a pint bars presenting you with the card machine where you have to select whether you want to leave a tip

Yes you can. In this case the cost of the repair was already up near the pay out amount and they'd only done the superficial stuff, but suspected there was some structural damage underneath. As long as damage is repairable and is covered by whatever payout you will get can you keep a car that is written off & just get it fixed yourself?
To be fair to the staff they haven't designed it in and probably feel as embarrassed about it as I doThe tip entitlement is creeping its way over the Atlantic to us. It’s still far worse in the USA. But every time I’ve been over there I’ve found myself reminding some staff that it’s a courtesy, not their entitlement. Depends how much of a c**t I think they are.
I just do $1 a drink but tend to sit at the bar over there. Being prompted to tip by a card machine when going up to a bar to get served in the UK is a joke. The tip entitlement is creeping its way over the Atlantic to us. It’s still far worse in the USA. You can bet yer arse the staff are not seeing all of it unless you leave it as cash. Don't know if they do in the States. It makes me laugh that the "add a tip" options on the card readers over there are in percentages - the average American still works in fractions. Decimal fractions are a rarity and percentages almost unheard of!! The lowest "add tip" percentage i saw was 15% (or three twentieths if you prefer!!). Some of them even swap the values around to catch you out if you are in the habit of pressing the left hand one by default! Bastards!I just do $1 a drink but tend to sit at the bar over there. Not quite the same but card machines asking for a charity donation at the end of purchase. This seems to happen mostly (exclusively?) at petrol stations.£5 a pint bars presenting you with the card machine where you have to select whether you want to leave a tip

So that’s oil companies asking me to make a charity donation. Get fucked.
