Did a day trip to Brighton last week, never been before. Really enjoyed it, my daughter asked for candy floss on a stick at the pier and the women looked at me like I’d just asked to reenact the Bruce Willis in Harlem scene from Die Hard 3. Convinced me to buy it in a pot instead.
We go there most summers now, split our time between the pier/front, cultural stuff in the centre and walks along the South Downs. Great place for a week away

My eldest loved it. Coming from Bedduff it was a fashion Mecca. Think it’s gone on her list for uni consideration just for the shops.

A few days at WSM spending loads of money, board, food, entertainment (costs a £1 just to go on the pier without £11+ for wristbands) .If you need the loo 30p if you have the right change if not more and you can't even pay by card.
Don't mind paying to use the toilets but 30p or more each visit just to spend what they said used to cost 1p is a bit steep.

We stopped on the way back from Cornwall a few years ago, they were charging for everything, refused to pay the £1 for the pier, decided to just get an ice cream and straight back in the car, the place was absolutely deserted.

Never been. Went to Deal camping a few years back, never having been to Kent before (except passing through to get the ferry). Really lovely places (except Margate, which was a hell-hole).
Might try Brighton some day.

Wessun (as we Bristolians call it) has really gone down the toilet in recent years. Cheaper to go to Spain or the Algarve.

Banksy scribbling his way round London. Don’t know why, but he irritates me.

I always get annoyed when people at work say they’re going to “liaise” with someone. I’m convinced it’s a word people only use in a work setting

Just say you spoke to someone
Yea, corporate lingo is bizarre. I refuse to participate.

We've had an advertisement go up for an 'agile scrum master'. As far as a load of bollocks trying to make IT jobs sound more interesting than they are that's right up there with the best I've seen

Austin Healey was one of them.

Yeah, I work in IT and find it weird.

It's like when I had to go to my first "stand up" and every fucker sat down.

Dressing in themed costumes, like penguins, for just an ordinary social event. Why?
Receiving pictures of these hilarious happenings, which you have no interest in, on social media. Why?
Being expected to respond with LOLs and congratulations for your outrageous humour. My God, how original. You are a comedy genius!! OMG
Listening to frequent reminiscing about these goings on for all eternity and painfully weak 'running jokes'.
Annoying references to ME being the one with no sense of humour.

I don't work in IT but did some software procurement a few years ago as part of a wider programme of work. The cretins running the programme tried to impose agile project management methodology on everything, it was a farce.

Stand ups, retros etc, all necessary to engage often introverted developers but meant nothing to me. Asking me what I'm doing in my next sprint

Agile definitely up there at the moment. Hear it frequently. Disruptor another classic. In fact so many want to disrupt the market must be all over the place. We also have a lot of triage going on at the moment which I'd only ever heard of in A&E.

Always liked the word triage (and moist). Images of a mucky threesome.

We have a lot of triage going on, whilst good in principle it's another step that actually prevents anything being fixed. To use a bulshit bingo term the "process" is a "blocker".

Parents not in control of their kids. Mum with a pushchair, and two other little kids in front on a scooter and a bike. One on the scooter particularly out of control veers out right in front of my 18 tonner. VERY fortunately it was a tight road so I was already going slow.

Otherwise it’s a dead, squashed unrecognisable child. And me in jail.

FUCKING CONTROL YOUR KIDS!

The HGV drivers flashing their ridiculous lights at each other at night on the motorway.

Add on the slow overtaking tactics uphill.

I meant flashing the opposite sides of the road lol
Oh blinding!!

Of course back in the day they uses have an effort on bends at least mounted on the top of central reservations to prevent you getting an eyefull from the opposite direction.
Suppose it seems like safety isn't so important now, what with the lack of them and the increase in power of said lights!
