Never really been a drinker of spirits but recently had a gin and tonic. Noticed that the greedy buggers have reduced the size of the mixer bottle so that you only have enough for the one drink. Used to be a bigger bottle which would last for two.
Shrinkflation should be considered when working out the annual rate! Of course they would argue it's effiency, for some bollux about stacking or the like, reduction in Pro rata price's then please!!

As someone with chronic insomnia since I was a teenager, now in my 30s, you have my sympathies.

It can really take its toll, so hopefully you are getting some help from your GP.
Seeing them later in the month. Pretty much every night now I’m up at 3-4 am then wide awake for hours.

Me too - I put the radio on to try and drift off again - doesn’t help that my wife snores like a trooper 😂
We already sleep separately because of snoring. Concerning me as what was happening a few times a month is now happening nearly every night.

Check your oxygen levels and temperature. Also don’t eat for several hours before bed, don’t drink for several hours either. Temp should be about 18 degrees ideally.

It’s always happening either during or at the end of a vivid dream which tells me it’s psychological rather than physiological.

Laptops that don't seem to reach 100% battery charge. Mine seems to be stuck on 99%.

I have this weird obsession that my electrical gadgets must be 100% battery when not in use, and I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep tonight if I do not see the charge go up to 100%

Ironically you’re probably deteriorating your batteries quicker because of it. A lot of devices trickle charge the last few percent to extend battery life. 30-80% is optimal charge, but obviously also only half your battery life.

Yeah, I'm aware of all that, it's an irrational annoyance, I know that.

Is that a recent thing? It started happening occasionally for me during the pandemic but this last year it’s gotten a lot worse.
Nah I’ve had insomnia to varying degrees since I was a teenager. As with you, it’s usually at the end of a vivid dream. I now have some brown noise on in the background and it definitely helps, especially for falling back asleep.

My Barclays app.

I put push notifications on so it shows money going in and out and the fucker turns itself off again after a couple of hours.

Such a garbage app. Just give me API access to my account and let me use literally anything else. The spending categorisation thing is equally useless.

The bloke who occasionally reads the news on absolute radio, takes a deep suck of air after every sentence.

Lorry drivers tailgating cars on the M1 through the roadworks. As soon as the car pulls over the Lorry hammers it up to the next vehicle and the process continues. One last night was throwing a 44 tonner around like it was a Fiesta. Absolute pricks some of them.

Simon Gilbert’s shitty article about Brum councils art collection. Earned me a block for pointing out his shitty “journalism”, and I didn’t even mention the fact it seems entirely paid for by the Tax Payers Alliance.

Silly Lego haired prick.
Would love to see the offending tweet

He blocked me years ago when I was defending him :ROFLMAO: Shouldn't you need a slightly thicker skin to be a journo?

Well looking at the quote tweets and the ratio he’s going to have to block most of Twitter who all seem to be of the opinion he’s a silly LEGO haired prick.

I'm late 50s now but have always slept badly. I can go to sleep in second at the end of the day but wake up like clockwork at 2/3am and generally awake for three hours or so. If I do happen to sleep though then I'm usually awake about 5. Used to it now, but it is so exhausting.

I am the same. Last 10 years I’ve had nights where I’ve slept less than a couple of hours in one stretch

If you go to your GP he can refer you to the sleep unit at Walsgrave. They just give you a monitor you wear one night and then take back to them and will flag up if there's any issues.

I just put it down to busy life, nothing unusual, everyone is tried kind of thing until I fell asleep at the traffic lights one day and thought I'd better get checked. Turned out my quality of sleep was absolutely fucked to the point that in reality I wasn't actually getting any rest and recovery.

When you literally can’t walk so you seek help from the incredibly ironically named “walk-in centre”…. Taking the proverbial here, NHS!
