They are both dreadful.

I know, I mean that they played with enough regularity under him that I could have seen him consider them, the rest not so much.

Obviously they were played out of necessity rather than much else.

Not bad shouts really! Never seen Lawton play though to be fair!

Never given a first team chance. Looks good for U21's though and it's only fair he gets a run in the team to try and prove himself. In my opinion, only average ability wise but will put his foot/head in anywhere and always give 100%. Needs to play in his preferred centre midfield position as opposed to centre half which is where SP played him

Stokes is the surprise for me. TM obviously thinks he can improve further. To be fair to him he did (eventually) help us get a few clean sheets and looks like he could chip in with a couple of goals. The down side is he was torn apart a few times and his crossing is poor. I guess one good thing about getting Stokes in is Haynes will still have every chance of coming through and be breathing down his neck...

Really happy with that list and no real surprises at all. So glad to see the back of Webster and Barton, Jackson was dissapointing, Nouble was too hit and miss for me, prob had 1 ok game in 6!

Mowbray said it was about managing him properly, if he can adapt training and stuff to get more games out of him it would be a good move I think.

Paul McGrath never trained but was still quality on a match day. Not that Reda is as good as McGrath but yes, if managed properly, he can play more games

Nouble gone. Barton gone. Jackson gone.

It's a bloody massacre!

Brilliant news. Players that the odds are were on decent money but didn't play good enough consistently have gone. He has got rid of nearly a full team. Room to bring in nearly a full team already. I feel he already knows who he wants to bring in.

I think Stokes did enough to earn a contract. I would expect Haynes to come through long term but guess it takes some of the initial pressure off him to play every week.

he did v well but is he good enough to play for a team at the top end of the league? time will tell

Ledley King had something like that too, they'd only take him out of the bubblewrap to actually play because his knees were dust.

I expect to not hear any news on incoming players for a few weeks now. Is it 1st June contracts officially end? Guess that is the point we'll start making signings. Hoping we can maybe poach some up and coming league 2 / non-league players as well as just freebies.

Not all players in the squad will be playing each week. He might be a squad player that can come in as cover. Won't be on a big wage, good enough as cover and a good chance he will improve.

Thank Christ for stingy SISU only giving out one year deals. I remember last summer arguing that it was probably a good thing, I was right.

TM will be going on a well deserved holiday now. His 2nd and 3rd in command will be left to sound out players they are interested in. And the action will really start as the more clubs reveal who they will be keeping and who is up for grabs. And TM will be back by then.

There may also be one or two players, (who are still under contract), who will be 'encouraged to find another club' before the start of the new season. I'm thinking of Connor Thomas and Danny Swanson for example.

Maybe not far off. I expect a new experienced keeper to challenge Burge.

Once recruitment is finished I'll be surprised if even two of those are in the first 11. However I think Maddison, if still here, will start.

he will have seen what Thomas can offer, and he may feel I can develop him. Swanson He will have a look at pre season, but will have made his mind up by the start.

Stokes has improved since joining and is a squad player he thinks he can develop. Just as important Stokes has obviously shown he wants to learn and develop as a player.....where as Nouble has probably shown the wrong attitude, very immature with a big ego and lots of footballing faults.

Well another holiday where I will have to buy a paper everyday to see who we have signed, and have to read about Manure etc. Will have to read it more carefully we might get the odd line hidden away somewhere. ......

I imagine we wouldn't turn down cash offers for any under contract players if anyone is daft enough to want them.

Pretty happy with the list, slightly surprised by Stokes being offered a deal but there again left backs are hard to come by and TM must see something in him so fair enough.

Only slight worry for me is that the size of the released list means we need a pretty big recruitment drive, which can be tricky with money to spend, really tough with no money to spend. It's an issue of time as well, not just to get the recruitment done but also time for the squad to gel and train together etc. Hopefully TM has his list already drawn up and Waggot or whoever can be cracking on with it while he is on hols.

Can't really disagree with any of that. When it came up on my facebook feed the way it had been shortened made it look like we'd retained Nouble, Barton and Webster!

And that is what we have been lacking for ages.
Hopefully Mogga will be more of a 'draw' for players looking to kickstart/re-start their careers.

I wouldn't disagree with any of those released, they've all had far too much time to prove themselves.

Not seen anything of Lawton but think he's been injured for quite some time, very highly rated though. I hope Mogga acts quick and gets some decent signings in rather than wait for the dregs like Pressley used to do.

Barton and Nouble were both capable of brief moments of brilliance - that's the League One equivalent of brilliance - but both men need to step back and take a look at their career's and what they actually want out of the game. Barton - who granted had the horrific leg break to get over - has always appeared to be playing within himself, if his attitude, drive and belief in his own ability don't alter he could well be a non-league player in 18 months time. I'll never accuse a player of not putting in 100% effort, but Frank had you wondering whether he realised he was involved in a game of football at times. You don't have to be that blessed a player to succeed at this level, what you need is consistency and frankly that is something that these two couldn't spell, let alone acquire.

TM has got this one right.

I am so happy with that list. Absolute perfection.

Barton? Nouble? Webster?

Thank God for that is all I can say! Will not be missed at all.
