Jumping on the bandwagon for a better song (purely because it would be class to sing)

to the tune of “Bella ciao”

his names is Brandon
Thomas Asante
He came to score, came to score, came to score score score!
**Boateng said sign him
He’s fucking rapid**
So he plays for Coventry!

la la la la la …. Etc etc

** not my finest work, it fits, but someone may do better!
Surprised how slow he is with the ball

I've just watched the City Unseen video from Tuesday night. Whats with the Keith Lemon style hand bandage BTA seems to wear all the time?
It's quite common across football clubs seen it quite a bit!

Would help if we actually played to his and Haji's strengths. It's bonkers trying to play in the hole.

We have four strikers and each one of them wants to play in the channels and in behind.

Come on. We had zero ideas or intensity first half. Asante wasn’t the issue. It was that our most creative ball player was playing left back and our trickiest winger was playing amongst the giants bang in the middle of the pitch.
I don't know why, at any point in that first 60 minutes when we were struggling to string 2 passes together, we didn't just swap Saka and Rudoni for 10 minutes. Just to see how Derby coped with the change.

Might get pelters for this but I feel like BTA, EMC, Wright and Bassette are all playing for the same position in this team. I like the look of them all individually but not sure any of look comfortable playing the Simms or Sakamoto role. BTA/Wright can work against certain set ups but I don't think it is ideal most of the time.

Can you be one of the best technically if you’re absolutely incapable of using your right foot? So many times tonight the pass was on but he refused to make it because it would have required using his right.

Absolutely no idea why we signed him. I have seen precious little from him other than running around a lot. His pass distribution and awareness are horrendous and he's been crap Infront of goal. Waste of money.

Thomas-Assante isn't very good, works hard but really lacks quality.

Technically he's pretty poor for a Championship footballer.

Obviously it wasn't possible last night but ideally he'd be used as our go-to option for when opposition legs are tired and he can be brought on to harry defenders and help turn the ball over in dangerous areas.

Starting him over 90 minutes isn't at all productive.

tbf they'd find mobility an issue if you did that
They do as single players da silva has to take ten steps for every average man step, Lati is so slow in thought and the other one I have no idea what we saw in him.

Can only be as good as the service behind you… He actually managed to sniff out one of our only half decent chances with his back to goal as well

Robbed of a goal on Saturday and was top scorer for a superior side to us last season but yeah he’s ‘shite’

He doesn’t suit the way we play.

Yeah. Last night we couldn’t work the ball to him and when we did he was under too much pressure and doesn’t have the quality to find space in those situations. The games he’s been suited to he’s done a good job.

There was one moment in the first half where he received the ball in space and just needed to touch it and lay it into somebody's path who had acres of space to run into, he made a complete pig's ear of it, as he seems to most simple short passing. His head is almost constantly down looking at the ball. I am really really struggling to understand what was seen in him.

From my POV he has value, but as mentioned in a previous post he categorically shouldn't be starting. He's best deployed in the final stretch of games where tired legs kick in and defenders are more likely to make mistakes.

Often think he's better playing in an isolated position as well rather than up front in a striker partnership. He doesn't look up enough and isn't really all that capable of linking play.

Dasilva is an excellent footballer. May not be a great defender but one of the best technically on the ball we have.

To be an excellent footballer you have to have more pace than a snail and the turning circle of a Hummer when the opposition counter with the ball.

He'd be great in a Masters Five a Side Team

I assume we just looked at the fact he scored a few for West Brom last year and took a flier on him.

Work rate is the main thing but it does look headless chicken quite often.
