City boss defends defender
Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has defended Herman Hreidarsson after he came in from criticism for conceding the first goal at Blackpool on Tuesday night.
Speaking to Sky Blue Player at the club’s weekly press conference, Thorn about the defender who had been out of the picture at Portsmouth before he arrived at the Ricoh Arena, said: "I heard people talking about Hermann and his role in Blackpool's first goal but what people don't realise is the lad dislocated his shoulder just a few minutes before and it was still hanging out of it's socket when he was trying to get back.
“He's running back while carrying his arm and I'm not going to criticise one of my players for that, when that's what they're willing to go through to help the team.
"Despite that he's still managed to get back and tried to stick a leg out to stop the cross, going through that pain for the team and that's what you want. He's doing that for the cause. He just popped his arm back in afterwards and got on with it because that's the kind of player he is.

I get this but why didn't he substitute him if he is injured!

Tbf, I think all people were saying was he got caught out. I dont think anyone was slating him for it! Think AT is just looking for excuses to cover up the fact it was himself who cocked up, not HH!

Plus, if he knew he was injured, this makes it more so annoying that he took Nimely off to for Wood!!!

His arm wasn't about to fall off.

Plus points to HH for battling through the pain barrier-but major question marks to Thorn for not making the switch; nonsensical.

Hreidarsson nearly messed up in the game against Middlesbrough too but got away with his mistake. Which is worrying!
But in this instance its a bit different. Plus Thorn should have made the change a lot earlier (as he should of in several games this season).

Probably because he didn't know he had dislocated it tell hh told him afterwards hh was the furthest player away from the dugout in 2nd hslf so wouldn't read too much into it

Is HH suseptible to this dislocation then ? All matter of fact "just popped it back in" ..... just wonder if thats why he wasnt getting a game before and yet again we have taken on an injury prone player ?
