"He's moved on but it's not like we've lost Wayne Rooney or Alan Shearer.
"Yes he would have been good for us with his goalscoring but the way things have been done, we are probably better off without him.
"As far as I concerned, we played Norwich who got promoted and he missed a hat-ful in a 2-2 draw, we played Reading at home and he missed a load of chances and never scored.
"We're not a one man team so I am not absolutely devasted and at rock bottom because I was half expecting it. On one level, I was surprised because he said he would stop but its not the end of the world.
"The world doesn't stop because Marlon King's left - there are plenty more fish in the seas that I have got my bait dangling by at the moment.
"Everything is in line and I've got different things bubbling away and ready to press the button on.
"I'll get someone in who will fit into the club and score goals for us. But I think Lukas Jutkiewicz will have a massive season for us I really do. The Duke was only three goals behind Kingy last year. I have got options to play Gary McSheffrey at centre forward and I have got ones I want to bring in.
"I was half expecting Marlon to go anyway and although I was disappointed I had prepared for it. I'm sure whoever we bring in will be young and hungry and that's what we are looking for because we have a track record of taking young players and improving them and the way we are going to play will improve us anyway."
All he is doing is trying to give the fans and by the sounds of it himself some optimism for next season, it sounds as if he is trying to convince himself as well as fans that there will be life after King rather than moping around feeling sorry for himselfDid'nt Thorn come out and say that he had a phone call from King last week, having a laugh with him as King said "looks as though your stuck with me for the next 2 years Boss" and also stated that King would play a massive part for us next season, and what a major signing it was!!!!...now he's picking out certain games in which King missed a few chances!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing!!
It's looks like we will not be signing KP either, AT stated whoever comes in will be young and hungry.
I sense a league two striker as a replacement!
Notice how AT doesn't mention Eastwood in that interview?
Rickie Lambert....I still think he would be a great shout.
I agree, I think he said his comments though to try and lift the fans, players and club and try and lift the demoralised feel that has been surrounding the club the last few daysTo Andy Thorn.
Andy! no one's going to Think any less of you if you admit that losing Marlon King. is a major setback to your game plan for next season.
WE all saw what he can do, his presence on the field was an enormous boost not only for the fans but for the team as a whole,
and to say its not like like losing a" Rooney or a shearer" does you no favours, because to this club, that's exactly what we have lost. an enormous talent in this league.
WE need closure now on this disappointment, Yes! he gave his word then broke it, stuck two fingers up to the fans he'd bonded with, in a diabolical breech of trust, but to highlight his missed chances, in order to demerit his contribution, is plain and simple "Sour Grapes"
we're all gutted Andy, no shame in that.
Get Scoutin..Big Fella.
Respect....tankie
Why not! It could just be be 15th chance lucky :facepalm:i dont think we'll buy a new striker we have got attacking options to fill in eastwood ( i think we should give him a chance) platt (has good height but doesn't move) roy o'donnaven (he has'nt had a chance to prove himself he has only played one match for us) shaun jeffers( if he signs, young and could be the next sturidge) so we have plenty of options to chose from to fill in and we dont have a lot of money.
Why not! It could just be be 15th chance lucky
Lets keep it that way.he hasn't had a lot of play time under andy's new style of play
Lets keep it that way.
He cares about his horses and his horses only. Never seen a young striker with such a low work ethic. A few years back he played at Bristol City, IMO should never have been allowed to pull on the shirt again.lets not if you haven't seen him play in the new style of play and your already slagging him off he could be the next best thing if he put a bit of effort in and likes the formation
lets just say im glad your not the cov manager because your not willing to give a player a shot soHe cares about his horses and his horses only. Never seen a young striker with such a low work ethic. I'd be willing to give any player with abit of ambition a shot. Not this guy though. Surely you must see he's just downright lazy?! Had a chance too many me thinks. Get at least some of that 1.2 mil back before its too late i say!lets just say im glad your not the cov manager because your not willing to give a player a shot so
