I'd be willing to give any player with abit of ambition a shot. Not this guy though. Surely you must see he's just downright lazy?! Had a chance too many me thinks. Get at least some of that 1.2 mil back before its too late i say!
i watched the match against
QPR and crystal palace with gim in and to me he played well he ran at defenders at times then he lost his form towards the end of the season but i say give im a chance with AT and he will shine

Pretty decent in the opening few games before injury struck?
It's been said so many times it's boring, but he has all the ingredients to be a very good player at this level. Injuries and Coleman did not help. It's the last year of his contract though, so expect another Leon Best

Thorn's comments are awesome. He is having a dig at the player he thought would honour a deal he worked so hard on and said one thing only to do another. This has been a great learning moment for Thorn himself who will not be so patient next time.

As for moments in games he mentions he is correct. I also have said on here that jukebox will do well next season. Thorn clearly knows what he wants and it will all be a blessing in disguise.

Hopefully we can offload Eastwood in the next month, though... If we do give him a chance. I'd say to him he has to get himself 6 goals by January or he's packin'.

I don't think many are saying "he wasn't that good", just trying to move on and put it behind us. Honestly, I think we all know we're going to struggle to replace that kind of quality with no money. As Ernie says, we're relying on Juke now!

i dont think we'll buy a new striker we have got attacking options to fill in eastwood ( i think we should give him a chance) platt (has good height but doesn't move) roy o'donnaven (he has'nt had a chance to prove himself he has only played one match for us) shaun jeffers( if he signs, young and could be the next sturidge) so we have plenty of options to chose from to fill in and we dont have a lot of money.
eastwoods had enough chances , platts legs have gone , roy hasnt been given the chance because he isnt good enough (andy even gave mcindoe a chance) and jeffers struggled at places like cheltenham and hasnt signed a contract... if we dont sign a striker we will go down SIMPLES

Ok so kings gone lets deal with it as AT is trying to do, we cant predict whats gonna happen our who he is going to sign no mind how juke will get on in his first 3 games for all we know he could score 3 hat tricks and all of a sudden MK is forgotten about , then AT could sign a super young talent maybe not. Im not one to worry all to time lets face it look what this club goes through we just got to go with what we have and hope AT can show us he was the right choice to make manager hes looking ahead now and has a head scratcher to repalce marlon lets see what happens over the summer and our friendlys PUSB!!!

I have been crying out for us to sign adam lefondre for the past 2 seasons, think he would be a great signing and scores a hatful of goals, ok it's in league 2 but at least he knows where the back of the net is. Plus he wouldn't cost too much in the wages department, only problem is if we can afford his transfer fee

I don't think that there is a universal opinion on King and so don't think there has been a universal u-turn of opinion.

Personally King was never the reason I renewed my season ticket. I renewed it once they had given AT the permanent job. He has shown he can get the best out of players and under his successful tenure at the end of last season it was not all about King and so there is no reason to presume that all his plans will now fall apart.

When King signed I was undecided, he has played for a number of clubs now, most of whom he has done nothing for. However after a few games it was evident he had a decent touch, decent footballing brain and decent eye for a goal. I was therefore happy that we had signed him, however I think that because we are so desperate as Cov fans for anything to cheer about some people got carried away with the "rose tinted glasses" because alongside the obvious attributes there were obvious flaws. His temprament, disruptive nature in the dressing room and to be honest towards the end of the season he was not the player we had seen in those early games.

He said he would only sign till the end of the season and so clearly we were just a stop-gap and unless things went badly wrong he never had any intention of staying. I think most people expected that he would go and as season tickets are reported as selling well I think few people have used King as a decision as to whether to buy a season ticket or not.

If he had stayed I would have supported him as a quality member of our squad but now that he has gone I can't help think that we are better off without him. Let the rest of the team play as a unit and with a few additions which AT no doubt has up his sleeve there is no reason for all the dispondency. I think Juke will have a fantastic season, he grew throughout all of last season and under AT had 4 goals in 8 starts and one sub appearance. If AT can carry the teams form from the end of last season into next season then there is lots to smile about.

Well said! That kinda sums the feeling up surely? If we now sign an Ismail Miller, Kevin Philips, Robbie Earnshaw ,James Beattie or David Nugent even then the the optimism will be back at the club. King is just one player of admitted quality but there are others equally as good and available.
And I agree that Jukebox started to look quality in the latter stages and I think he will be a very good striker for us this season.

king is a quality player. so it was no surprise to me that another more ambitious club met his terms and sealed his contract. ccfc have always been weak and inept at negotiating deals. there will be not one quality player signed by us. we will pick up at the end of the transfer market any out of contract player or end of career player that is cheep and no one else wants. sisu will keep us ticking over at minimum cost untill they can offload a bad debt

MK went for the money ..... more money than we can afford to pay ...... he went to a relegated team who have now lost their manager apparently because they dont have major funds to spend on players despite parachute payments. They are in the same division as us but likely to lose some of their stars (Johnson Dann Jerome) having already lost 4 players that were on loan and 10 out of contract - it isnt the same squad that they had last season. There is the same ambition as us - to get in the premiership

You dont know CCFC have been weak in negotiations...... although the record points to them often taking too long. BUT it is never going to be easy - we dont have the funds and have to make sure we get value for money. Signing MK last year showed some ambition and said the club would take risks for the right player (got him on the cheap for all the well discussed reasons) but that affects our ability to sign others.

I assume you would like the club to splash the cash all over the place to get star players on star player wages. Simple truth is we are all but bust and without SISU right now would be out of business much like Rushden & Diamonds. We have no choice but to trawl the free signings and pay realistic not hyped wages - if they dont do that we dont have a club, we lose £7m + a year chap what do you suggest they do ?

I watched the dross from our squad/team last season....awfull. AT came in and those same players suddenly played football, and looked like they could give ANY team a run for there money. If AT can do that, add some cheap potential and there is some out there, or even some journeyman/ageing striker but make them play as a team. Then i feel we will be okay next year, if we can get a decent cup run or 2, then maybe just maybe we will get more money and better transfers. Will not hold my breath, but i am confident in Thorn and believe he will do us and the club proud.

I think Thorn was the right man for the job. We've had too many "names" in the past. However I have no idea how he will do and reserve judgement until Xmas. Certainly not judging anything by that little end of season cameo.

He's flavour of the month now but knowing Coventry fans could well be public enemy number 1 after 3 games!

lets face it whoever we get will be on a free transfer as we have not got the money for a fee,can not see them letting nugent go for free so will probably be harewood or phillips

If O'Donovan was any good he wouldnt have played just one game last season would he? Eastwood has played under countless managers at the Ricoh and has managed to underperform for them all. Im not saying he isnt a half decent player just he never seems to turn it on consistently and therefore has run out of chances in my opinion. As for your Platt theory, im sure any player can play well in one game!! I think he is a decent enough option for the bench to bring on if we need a goal in the last ten minutes and need to play hoof ball, but then a lot of players can do that. SO in summing up if we dont sign a partner for Jutkiewicz we are in trouble.
