I know that every club has its share of fucking idiot fans.....
....but I'm sure we got a double portion.....
Calling for the managers head before a ball has been kicked........dumb beyond belief.

As bad as the friendly performances are now is not the time to sack the manager or for him to resign. He has to be given some time to create the new team and it has to be judged on League performances. However he doesnt have the same leeway or goodwill as last season so that time to prove himself and the team is going to be relatively short. If after 8 or 10 games there is no obvious improvement or adequate results then the question will have to be asked by TF etc is AT the man for the job. It may still be that they conclude the best thing is to give more time but AT is now under pressure to succeed with no where really to hide. Personally I have serious doubts he can pull it off but hope I am wrong

Thorn is not a manager, he is a scout.
And do you know no-one, in or out of football that's ever changed their role? Started doing one thing, learned and progressed to do another job?
Do you work for a business? Does it have an MD? If so, what did he start doing? Or was he born and then given the job?
Football is littered with managers who have progressed from one role - scout, youth team coach, translator (!?!) and been successful managers.
If you've got an argument, or point; put it forward. But to trot out that lame one of simply pathetic
Mullered by a 5th tier league side. Anyone still think we will win the league? How many of you, are still happy with this team?
How many (On the last 4 performances) think that "Friendlies don't count" but hammering one team (Hinckley who finished bottom of their league but were reinstated) and only scoring 5 goals against an Amateur team Brora Rangers fc who finished 16th of 18 teams in their league?
*Click**Click* Wake up....This is the 21st Century!
I know you quote the translator but that is a bit unfair as it doesn't quiet tell the whole truth. Actually I cannot think of anyone else who has just been plucked from a scouting role and become a manager - can you?
Nigel adkins was the physio at scunny and he's had three promotions in the last five years
So all managers go straight from playing to being manager?
I dont rate thorn but at least give him a couple of league games! It could be a genius tactic to fool the opposition!
For what it is worth by the way I am staggered by the amount of anti-Thorn stuff on here. As everyone knows I genuinely believe he is awful and that this will be badly exposed in the weeks to come. However as the majority appeared to disagree and believe he should be allowed time what has actually changed? Losing friendlies is not really a big deal it does happen all the time. If he is that popular I cannot see why this suddenly becomes a crises over-night.
There are quite a lot of fans that have been warning that League 1 will be a tough proposition, that we are not nailed on to be challenging, that just because we sign 7 players it doesnt mean we have a team, that just because AT is allowed to sign players doesnt mean he is (or isnt) a good manager. Reality check really isnt it..... this coming season was always going to be a tough one and as usual with CCFC a roller coaster ride.
Situation normal at CCFC then!
I'm not anti-Thorn - I'm sure he's a good guy and trying his best - BUT what's lacking and what I think we should be trying to achieve in EVERY game friendly or not is instilling a WINNING mentality - that's what we need now - CCFC HAVE to believe they can win every game and have to go all out to do that - a run of decent wins against anyone will give us the confidence we need to make a go of next season
I don't agree with people writing these losses off as 'just friendlies', Thorn has put out his supposed best team now 3 times and they have been fairly woeful each time against average opposition. Posters keep referring to this capable team we have assembled but in truth it is still a very weak squad with a dreadful set of strikers, a goalkeeper who doesn't command his area and a smattering of inexperienced kids. I hope Thorn hasn't fucked up with his signings because SISU will not allow another manager to come in and sign a load more.

To be honest I can't be bothered to look; but I'm sure it could be Googled if you were so inclined. It's just a daft comment. It's not an insurmountable step. Football player to football scout to football manager is only one-step removed from the 'more accepted' football player to football manager. Indeed, one could argue his career path is more enriched by the additional experience.
My point being, criticise him by all means. You know that's possible. Better than many! But at least have the good grace to build an argument, as opposed to lazy and crass statements
But I do not think that there are that many and this is part of the problem I have. Yes there must be one or two but most leave as a player with intent to manager. He retired a long time ago and the fact he never bothered to take his badges shows either he didn't aspire to or wasn't considered good enough for the role.
