More like the irrational replies saying we are going down because of AT's inexperience and that we would have been safe with an experienced manager from the start of the season. It seems as though some think there is an AT in camp and an AT out camp. Nothing in the middle. If this is the case you should try to have been in the so called AT in camp. Being called all kind of names just because you have belief in your teams manager has not been my idea of fun. Make a comment on your beliefs and you are a WUM, TAF or even delusional. Each comment you make is picked to pieces and anything that could be used against your thoughts is taken past the limit. Then some wonder why some of us can't let comments go by without replying to them.

I think most just want city to do well, there are those where if a player or thorn fucks up they will slate them but if they do well they will say fair play which i think is most of the posters!

Then there are the people where if thorn won england the world cup he would still be rubbish and those where if he played 10 in defence when we need a win to stay up would say he was the best thing ever!

The best posts are the balanced ones I think

Exactly! I've got some absolute dickheads who sit behind me - yesterday Murphy was a muppet/useless/drop him because of that save he made near the end that he didn't catch! Thorn was a moron, once again. McSheffrey was completely useless. Hussey and Clarke - what do they bring to the team! It's the same every week, they have absolutely nothing positive to say - it's got to the point where I want to turn round and scream in their face that they know nothing and if they don't like what they see what the f*ck are they doing coming every week!

I seemingly am accused of being in the anti-Thorn camp though. Get it any time I make a criticism of him. When i praise him though no-one says anything. Strange that.

Bottom line is Astute, anytime anyone has made any criticism of Thorn throughout the season some have had to suffer retorts of "what do expect" and "It's not Thorns' fault, its Sisu's fault" and "Support the fookin team instead of having a go at the manager" and "No-one could do any better."

All I do is say it as i see it. We have been doing much, much better of late. Would appreciate anyone pointing out any posts I have made lately that could be described as being anti-Thorn. I was a lot more vocal in my criticisms earlier in the campaign because Thorn was making more mistakes. He does well I praise him, he makes mistakes i point them out. He got the Thomas thing spot-on yesterday and i said that at the time.

It is Sisu's fault if we go down because if Thorn isn't the right man for the job it was they who employed him. My main fear now is that this is going to go down to the wire and that we could be relegated by the odd point or so. Then there is going to be a lot of reflection on the time AT was 'learning his trade' and mistakes were made that may well have cost us points.

Just cross my fingers that doesn't happen. in some ways if we were to go down it would be better to go down a number of points adrift anyway and then those lost points probably wouldn't have made any difference.

If we go down expect a lot of reflection upon earlier in the season. It's only natural.

But the "balanced view" has to be long term.
It was the knee jerk fury of the anti AT group which was so utterly irrational AND particularly in light of the reality of his predicament. The hysteria exhibited by some of these posters was absurd as the recent upturn in form has demonstrated. Stickability by Thorn ought to have been reflected by fans' patience.....

The NYE game at home to Brighton the guy sat in front of me was shouting 'Sod off McSheffrey you fat lazy git!', Sheff scores from 25-30 yards, then it's 'He comes from Coventry, he's better than Henry'. We have our fair share of idiots at the Ricoh, no question.

Why does it have to be long term? If thorn makes a mistake he makes a mistake! The same as if he makes a good decision! A sunday league manager can make a good decision but it doesnt mean long term he will be the next england manager does it?

People will be angry when he was making mistakes as it was costing us points that could be the decider as to whether we go down, it just makes the "its not thorns fault it is sisu as we have no players" look silly as we are now playing half decent with the same squad! He is making changes that he should have been making 6 months ago, if an inexperienced sparky burnt my house down it doesnt mean i wouldnt be pissed off because he was still learning!

It was only a couple of weeks ago when we played forest and leicester and were awful, for all we know against bristol thorn might have a shocker by not making a change or something, but i hope he Doesnt.

The last few games we have fought for results and points, why didnt we at lestar or forest when they were there for the taking?

Why does thorn have stickability? I wouldnt walk out on a high paying job i wasnt qualified to do where i could get away with making costly mistakes!

How is that we can accept that Thorn is a novice manager and his mistakes can be attributed to that but can't accept the same about many of the players he has at his disposal?

Surely both have learnt through experience and an upturn in fortunes has followed?

In which case, given the circumstances, as dadgad says patience was only fair.

Otis, try the ones that say either we plaued crap or our opponents played crap. Nothing to do with maybe us playing well. Point it out and watch the grief that follows.

A few have gone quiet on here the last few weeks, mainly the onrs that said we would be lucky to get a point this month. 1 game to go and undefeated.

Would listen more to some people if they would hold their hands up and admit they were wrong when they are.

BTW I am never wrong ;-)

One last quick one before my phone is flat.

Nick, Forest were for the taking were they? The team that has more quality on their bench than we have in our squad. I wonder if that is what Leeds thought before Forest put 7 past them at Elland Road last week?

I would say Forest were there for the taking at that point. Lack of goals, lack of wins, confidence very low. We bottled that game, pure and simple. Not that I'm complaining now, we've been great recently, we just need to keep up those levels till the end of the season.

The Forest boards prior to our game were full of stuff more pessimistic than the usual stuff on here-since we rolled over and gave them the win, they've gone on and started a good run of form that's seen them pull clear. Not to mention score our entire season's away tally in a single game.

Said on another thread, Nimely and Norwood have made a big difference. Juke didn't suit the way we wanted to play. Our shape is much better with Nimely up front.

At least it was. No idea where Nimely was on Saturday. Here, there and everywhere except where we wanted him. Platt was knocking the ball down into empty spaces where Nimely should have been. They seemed to have an understanding in previous games but it simply wasn't there on Saturday.

Yeah, my dad and I said at the time that was the only thing he's done all game (we weren't complaining, it was an observation)! To be fair, if he does that every game though I wouldn't care if he's disappeared for 89 minutes! Intelligent from Norwood as well though, just kept himself in a load of space.

As for Thorn, I'd say depends on what division but in the end I suppose it depends what the owners want to spend.

If he keeps us up, it'll be hard not to give him a new contract. If we go down and SISU are still here, I doubt they'll bring anyone new in.

I think Thorn, like SISU, will be here for the forseeable future.
