Three novels to show Dickens (1 Viewer)

I'm not going to claim that Dickens was 'the first modern novelist' or anything pretentious like that. Firstly because I'm not even sure what that means and secondly because I'm sure there are people on this forum who know far more about literature than I do and will dispute the claim; I'm sure they would be right and it's possibly an interesting topic in itself - however it's not the point. A little background for people who have never read him: he writes very readable stories full of satire; he wrote about the poor and inequality and took the piss out of the wealthy.

I enjoyed thinking about music to play to Lennon and McCartney and started thinking about books too. Which three novels would you give Dickens to read if you could go back in time yadda yadda...
