With us it’s normally tit for tat pricing, if a club charges our fans cat A prices, we do the same, if you agree to our game being a cat C at your place, it’ll be the same at ours.
Ok, seeing as it's you £29.99The club are pretty good these days at reacting to fan feedback. Pretty sure marketing/comms read SBT (why wouldn’t they?)
They may put out an offer for the Forest game all things considered.
They sold 18,000 season tickets I think it was in League 1, very impressive whatever the price
Hope it does sell out but probably not. Think they could have done a one off price for the first game back, or maybe a deal such as 2 adult tickets for *£45. Having said that I remember paying £26 at Hartlepool about 10 years ago.Not really. It'll probably sell a shit load of tickets still if not sell out. If it sells out is it a dumb move?
Why would anyone make say West Brom a cat C match?
Mid week games.
long distance to travel.
So more travel spending money in local businesses and the stadium.
to make it cheaper for our fans at their place.
because it’s during the Christmas period when people don’t have as much spare cash.
Or it’s in January when people are still skint form Christmas and have weeks to wait for pay day.
Yes it was expensive for away fans cheaper in the home end with all the differant offers they did.You might be right there. I know they had crazy cheap season tickets but now you mention it the matchday prices might have been as high as that..
It's definitely been done based on away fans.
Birmingham on a Wednesday night is category A because they know they'll sell the end. Derby, Forest and Stoke will also bring thousands.
Fulham is the strange one. They will bring around 1000 and, despite recent years in the Prem, they are far from a big pull. It will be one of the lowest Saturday crowds of the season.
Leeds charge £42 at their gaff, as do Wensdeh, along with Ipswich who used to be the third most expensive in the league, they’re the reason why we brought in categories, to be able to charge their fans what they charge us. We’re a nothing club to the likes of West Brom, if they make our game at their place a cat C we’ll do the same.So when Leeds were in the championship was it a grade C match? Is Sheffield united?

This is an article from a few years ago, but we still do the same thing, read it, and if you still don’t understand what I’m telling you then you never will
FIXTURES | Categories Announced
We can today reveal our matchday categories for the first half of the 2019/20 campaign here at Oakwell.www.barnsleyfc.co.uk
That’s different to ours then, you only set Cat A if the opposition charge you similar, otherwise Cat B and Cat C for everyone else
Wonder if the chance of another lockdown will put people off season tickets

What category is the Sheffield united game again?
which clubs reduced the prices at their ground when you did this?So it’s not that hard to understand then ?. I thought tit for tat pricing would have been enough of an explanation but apparently not.
Going back a few years our then owner thought it was a piss take that we was charging £20 which is what he thought was a fair price, and other clubs were charging us over double that, so he brought in this way of pricing games, and our new owners have stuck with it.

Barnsley surely is cat C for all other clubs anyway as well - you’re a bit shit and unattractive - what other clubs have less appeal as an away club to you anyway?
Well he did ask...Coventry
It’s yet just another thread, where he’s made himself look as thick as a tub of spunk.Well he did ask...

Blues away support is good but I’d be surprised if they had 6k here on a Tuesday night early on in the season, they’ve sold the end once, 3k is usually what they bring
