ticket prices (1 Viewer)

I think this thread has been slightly taken off track in that people are particularly talking about single person/ticket prices. My angle is from that of a family and again I repeat if like us who don't live in Cov decide on the spur of the moment to go to the match we would be asked to pay 2 x adults, 1 x 16-21 and 2 x 15 year olds= Total £ 88.00, that's before travel and anything else. This is for a League 1 football match for 90 mins, that could feasibly be terrible. At that risk, folk will think twice !

In the same breath.. It's between £16.75-£22.74 per person to go to the Belgrade ..£15 a ticket for rugby at the butts..and about £45 a ticket for Alton towers ..yes £88 is a lot of money but we are not that dear in comparison..

nick is a sixfielder though and just shouldnt comment on ticket prices,

we bring the club home and he reaps the rewards.

absolutely nothing. i told you before my post was not said with any malice and i meant that. i think people who already have cheap tickets should steer clear of a thread like this as they cant understand what its like to buy matchday tickets at 22 quid this season.

OK, fair enough. I think we should then introduce a rule whereby if you've not been to a game then you can't comment on it. Not seen a member of the squad play? Well, don't dare comment on him. Were you at the Cup Final? No!? Well, please never mention it....ffs....where do you stop.

You really are determined despite your lack of "malice" to consistently have a go at people who went to Sixfields. I hope you move on from it one day, though I'm not sure you will.

i have no issue with sixfielders, they made wrong choice imo but thats what it was a choice. i do have an issue with bullies though.

you are still cheesed off that i was honest with you when it came to the whole sixfields debate, we cant agree on everything torch even thought we did agree on most things up until about a month ago!

someone who has a cheap ticket saying that higher priced tickets than their own is reasonable just dont sound right to me.

Course I do. Yet another poster who can't answer the question. I agree with the figures 100%. I shall ask again.

Why did the club reduce it to £5 a ticket then?

And also RT said it wouldn't affect attendance now this can't be proved or disproved I guess but i think it would of not been a sell out had it been £22-24 that's just my opinion though. I accept that.

Personaly I think the £10 price was a big factor towards generating a sell out ! People can afford £10, many and I mean many simply cannot afford £22 - £24

FACT

There are loads of products, places that do BOGOF. I have been at least 20 times and NEVER paid full price ?

But they will know from past seasons? They will know from cup games? Funny though, it's the same people who whinge about everything. You clearly do agree with the prices as you have bought one, that's how it goes isn't it? If you go you are supporting everything they do?

Is it the fact they are giving less money to SISU that riles you? They should be hailed as heroes for getting one over on our evil owners.

Championship day out 'for below £20'
12 September 2013 Updated 05:43
By Karen Fazackerley - BBC Sport

Huddersfield provide the cheapest Championship match-day experience for the second consecutive season, BBC Sport Price of Football has found.
The lowest-priced adult ticket has remained at £10, with the addition of a match programme, a cup of tea and a pie making a total day-out cost of £17.80.
Only League One Sheffield United, at £17.70, provide a cheaper match-day experience in the Football League.
Blackpool have the Championship's cheapest season ticket at £195.30.
Ipswich have the costliest at £1,061, £311 more than their nearest divisional rivals, Leicester City, and £111 more expensive than the dearest season ticket at Premier League champions Manchester United.
They also offer the most expensive match-day experience in the Championship.
The highest-priced ticket at Portman Road costs £63.50, but that includes a £3 programme, tea and coffee, and access to an exclusive bar. The cheapest match-day ticket at Ipswich is £23.50.
"We recognise that we are more expensive in some areas of ticketing than a number of Championship clubs but in other areas we are very comparable with our league rivals," said a club spokesperson.
"We have frozen season ticket prices for the third successive year and the seventh time in 11 years. Our supporters under the age of 11 could again purchase a season ticket for just £10."
Derby, like Huddersfield, offer a £10 match-day ticket but, with a cup of tea 20p more expensive at Pride Park than the John Smith's Stadium, their cheapest day out is £18.
Huddersfield chairman Dean Hoyle told BBC Sport: "In terms of our match-day prices, our categories mean we have flexibility and can match prices with the circumstances of each game through the season. Our cheapest 'PROMO' category has been retained as we wanted to make all the fixtures as affordable as possible.
"We have to balance ticket affordability with the financial cost of running the club and also building our fanbase.
"We do recognise that times are tough for many supporters. We want to provide flexibility and something for everyone so as many as possible can watch us in live action."
The BBC Sport Price of Football study looked at 166 clubs in 10 divisions across British football, including the Conference Premier and Women's Super League.
It found QPR, Reading and Wigan have all lowered their cheapest adult match-day ticket prices following relegation from the Premier League, by 20%, 32% and 25% respectively.
Wigan chairman Dave Whelan told BBC Sport: "When you go down, instead of playing 38, you play 46 matches. Now people are usually prepared to pay more to watch Premier League football than they are Championship football, so what I thought we'd do is keep our season tickets at the same price.
"Whatever you do and wherever you go, football is the topic people talk about and even the children talk football, football, football. It's fantastic for the game but how long can it last? It doesn't seem to be struggling. The Premier League is going from strength to strength."
League One champions Doncaster have raised their cheapest adult match-day ticket prices by £6 to £21, while their most expensive match-day ticket has risen from £23 to £25. But the cost of a pie at the Keepmoat Stadium has fallen by 10p.
Their fellow newly promoted sides Bournemouth and Yeovil have raised their cheapest adult match-day ticket prices by 11% and 29% respectively over the summer - from £18 to £20 at Dean Court and £17 to £22 at Huish Park.
At £2.30, Wigan have the cheapest pies in the Championship, while Brighton & Hove Albion have the most expensive at £3.80.

Ticket prices will settle one day unfortunately the actions of Man City Chelsea Man Utd are creating a false pull upwards.

Really average prem should be 30 quid
Championship 20 quid
League one 15
League two 10

IMO.

That seems to be your normal quote these days for anyone that has a different opinion to yourself.

Saying that we would get higher attendances if the prices were lower isn't moaning. It is stating a fact. The hard part is working out at what price would bring in more punters and more money. But yes the usual suspects start having a go at those who say so. And if you say anything back you are moaning and whinging. And those having a go at those with what most see as a valid point are not moaning and whinging?

So a walk up price for Alton Towers is £45. Walk up price for us £24. Alton towers 8 hours. Us less than 2. Alton towers about £5.50 an hour. Us £12 an hour? Yet it is OK to use them to compare ticket prices as you pay more to get in. But I see the Alton Towers price as too expensive as you spend most of the day in a queue. I take my family to Drayton Manor. It normally costs around £60 for two adults and three kids depending on what discounts I can find online. The last time I searched I found that if you have Tesco clubcard vouchers you get a free ticket for each £8.50 worth of vouchers. So if you shop at Tesco's you can get in for free. Free is good :) The wife has one as the first place you come to as you get off our island is Tesco's. We also have a Tesco's express near where we live. And she never uses the vouchers she gets. Even better is that the queues are rarely longer than ten minutes. And the kids love the zoo. Been going for many years. You used to pay to go to the zoo and then either pay for the rides as you went on them or got a wristband. It has always been value for money so they have always got my custom.

Value for money should be the buzzwords. If people think that they are getting value for money they will return. If they think that it is expensive they might occasionally go. But they won't go as much as their available time will allow. Alton Towers to me is expensive and if you want to get past the queues you have to pay extra. They never get my custom. Blackpool pleasure beach is the same. I can see Blackpool from where I live although it takes well over an hour to get there. They charge too much to spend the day in a queue so they never get my custom. But if I did go there I would save time and money in getting there. It is all down to value for money.

Right that is the end of my moaning and whinging for now. Time to get rid of more of the wife's vouchers to get tickets for Drayton Manor :p

Nobody was mentioning cost when shouting about us being in Northampton but it seems to be the next cool thing to be angry about and the next excuse not to go after being so hurt that we moved away.

Yes Nick nice one.

So some of us are saying what we might be able to do to bring our attendances up. There are what seems to be angry replies by some who seem to disagree with just about anything. Yet you say that those of us that are talking about ways of trying to get attendances up are the angry ones.

And many of us were saying about the cost of tickets whilst playing in Northampton. Like we wouldn't go however cheap they become. And from the ticket prices to the attendances this was shown to be correct. The Ricoh would be rocking if the prices were the same. IIRC tickets were available for £9. I wouldn't know for sure as I never went there. The cheaper tickets I am saying about would be twice this price. But this doesn't match with what some are saying as they are trying to make out that attendances don't have a lot to do with the ticket prices.

The ticket prices in Northampton were set low to subsidise the 70 mile trip travel costs. We need to stop harping on about them.

Why haven’t you reduced ticket prices for the Yeovil match?
Under Football League rules, we are only allowed to run a fixed number of promotions per season

So much for the free market economy, what is the basis behind this rule. Clubs are not going to charge £1.00 per game as it will blow their FFP, how could charging £10.00 or £15.00 a game be seen as rule breaking, seems petty to me!
