We are looking for a manager to take this club forward.

Thorn stayed on as we felt he had it tough from us and no resources. We gave him a chance to work with new management team, bring in new players, but the same pattern of results, and even though it's 4 games this pattern is continuing. We agreed a very strong start, this didn't happen.

This decision wasn't taken likely.

Shaw has a chance, we would be concerned if he didn't apply, he has chucked his hat into the ring, he has a number of games, we have a recruitment process, we have some very experienced managers applying, some younger ones, Wise, Ince and Blackwell have applied. Within 2 weeks we need an appointment, but we won't be pressurised into hiring the wrong person. They need hunger and ambition.

This is on of the countries biggest clubs, this is a chance to build your CV, the applications reflect the size of the club.

We are a fallen angel.

Finances are committed to bring in real quality to the club on the pitch.

Acceptable rent for us is around what other L1 clubs would pay. £100-150k a year.

Thorn was talking about bringing in 2 players in... strikers.... we are looking at the loan window to bring some more new blood.

Can't see how Shaw is in the frame.

If they want a new man in within 2 weeks that gives Shaw no time at all to put down his marker. Just tonight and Crewe on Saturday.

Pffft.

Only if our ground was comparable to other grounds in League One. The Ricoh is clearly larger and more modern, and is therefore more expensive to rent.....

Well the club shouldn't have gone to the council for them to fund the building of the Ricoh.

Don't see why tax payers have to lose out as the club couldnt run a piss up in a brewery.

How will the tax payers lose out? It's nothing to do with how much tax we pay.

Council tax payers in Coventry paid for the stadium via the council - as Maggie used to say, councils/governments don't pay taxes, taxpayers do

Oh I see and can you please explain how that has equated to individual council tax payments and also how the rent (whatever it ends up being) will effect the council tax payers if at all?

Because the council paid for the stadium to be built in exchange for the ownership (with Higgs) of the ground - the only way to recoup the millions that it cost to unexpectedly bail the club out in 2003 is to get rent from CCFC. The council is funded by the council tax payers of Coventry - is that simple enough for you?

Simple but factually not accurate.

I think there was a 21 million pound shortfall which the council funded giving them a half share, can't remember the exact figures but 21 mill seems to ring a bell.
