Finances are committed to bring in real quality to the club on the pitch.
Acceptable rent for us is around what other L1 clubs would pay. £100-150k a year.
Shrewd - delay bringing in the new manager until after the transfer window shuts!
Have a day off
Go on fishy lad

Pffft.
Only if our ground was comparable to other grounds in League One. The Ricoh is clearly larger and more modern, and is therefore more expensive to rent.....
Well the club shouldn't have gone to the council for them to fund the building of the Ricoh.
Don't see why tax payers have to lose out as the club couldnt run a piss up in a brewery.
Council tax payers in Coventry paid for the stadium via the council - as Maggie used to say, councils/governments don't pay taxes, taxpayers do
Oh I see and can you please explain how that has equated to individual council tax payments and also how the rent (whatever it ends up being) will effect the council tax payers if at all?
Looks like there's another large bar bill heading Citys way."we are one of the biggest clubs in the country" that had to make me laugh.
Because the council paid for the stadium to be built in exchange for the ownership (with Higgs) of the ground - the only way to recoup the millions that it cost to unexpectedly bail the club out in 2003 is to get rent from CCFC. The council is funded by the council tax payers of Coventry - is that simple enough for you?
