we now need to put yesterday behind us
it is in our own hands, and we are favourites for the play offs

Mansfield do not fancy their chances
we Should still get to the play offs

once there it depends which team turns up

Dont give up on them now, Post mortem after the season , but for now lets get behind them for the next 2 games and see where it takes us

Can you honestly see us being mentally strong enough to win, as much as it pains me I don't think we would get promoted IF we got to Wembley way way too inconsistent but happy to be proved wrong but still don't think its our year now :(

It would need a different attitude to the one they had last night if they were to come up against Lincoln again and be able to beat them.

I could see us winning the final at Wembley again if we get there we have been good in the cup this season. Get the 4 points and after the rollicking last night the players should be up for it. As pissed of as robin's was I'd say Doyler was a lot worse and will be firing them up for Saturday

The only advantages which I can see now going into the last two games is that we firstly still control our own destiny of getting into the play offs. we dont need to worry about any other teams, except for our opponents.

Secondly, this focuses the mind. Having a disadvantage this late can often stimulate the mind and make people work harder to get a decent result rather then to over estimate their chances and get a real bad game.

If there ever was a game to have a slip up on it was the last game.

It could carry the team over the next few fixtures.

Hmm, lose next game and Mansfield win ( entirely possible) and it's out of our hands. However if we scrape through to play offs I think we will win them. I just don't believe we will get there

i was just about to say the same, for me as long as its still in our own hands come the Morecambe game i think we will do it, but if it isn't then i don't think we will.

Couldn’t agree more, we lost to a team who was above us in the league. We had just won the previous 2 matches so we’re we really going to win the last 3 matches making it 5 wins on the trot. No. We were always going to lose a game or two on the run in. Now we have lost, if we beat Cheltenham or draw then the playoff spot can even be secured.

Time is now to go to cheltenham Saturday and win not to piss and moan about Tuesday night to a decent Lincoln outfit. We are all disappointed by the result including robins but it’s gone. Can only affect the future. Not the past.

I honestly believe that we might well lose on Saturday and then it will be all down to how Mansfield do.

My hope for the weekend is that Mansfield fail to win as I don't think we will come back from Cheltenham with anything

I think we will get a result. I certainly see goals. Would I take a draw now? Probably

My opinion is not really based on the other night to be fair just what's to come
Our defence is obvisouly very fragile. 2-6 and 2-4 in recent outings. I also really rate Eisa of theirs. Gave us a bit of a torrid time down at the Ricoh.

we lost to a team above us in the league,we were the home side, both on the same points,it was men against boys,we were never in the game, they were far more organised than we were, might of been on the same points, but they seemed a better unit we looked lost

Yes I agree. We are all frustrated by it. We did beat Lincoln at their place also. We outplayed them massively second half at their place. Did they have the same meltdown as our fans when they lost?

We lost a game of football against a good team in this league. We’ve been inconsistent all season highlighted by beating better teams and losing to lesser teams. Interesting also we don’t draw many games at all. We are either crap or brilliant.

Saturday against cheltenham could be anything.

I think if we are playing Morecambe and need to win 4-0 and we go a goal down to shit goalkeeping or defending and somebody tells me to calm down because its in our hands I might piss myself with anger.

A draw would be fine, keeps it in our hands for last day. Take a 0-0 all day long
Agree. It would be really nervy, but would take that all day long.

Hopefully Morecambe will get the point they need to survive against Barnet on Saturday too. Would hate for it to come down to their needing that one point against us. They would really set their stall to defend deep and in numbers and make it hard for us to break down,

I don't want to be going into the Morecambe game needing a win.

I'm not sure what kind of nerves or confidence people have saying that would be fine.

With our record of not having a top six finish since the Ottoman Empire or whatever, I've always suspected that the only way we'd get out of this division is via the playoffs after finishing seventh. Right on course for the most Cov finish outside 17th place.

Agree. The pressure on the players would be tremendous and I think we would very much see an error-riddled effort.

Think we would be fine if we just needed a draw, but having to win would be nerve-wracking in the extreme and I think it would get very ugly at the end if we lost and lost our place in the top 7.

People seem to conveniently forget, lincoln play away at Accrington(best and most consistent team in the league) who need to win for the title. Mansfield have been shocking and would need to complete 4 wins in a row to beat us. That isn’t happening, imo. Accrington win, Mansfield fail to win, both very very achievable. Then a decent win by us puts us not only in the playoffs but backbin the mix. County Exeter Lincoln, none will be unobtainable.

reading their forum, despite them out muscling us - they conclude what a good footballing side we are, and until 4-2 were always a match
They were expecting to see us in the play offs- and even meet them in the play off final

At the same time however, they believe that when their manager was bigging up Lee burge pre match, that he was taking the piss, and it was always the plan to use him as the weak link

Not forgetting about Lincoln at all, but there is a 5 point swing in goal difference between us now. We would need to win by 2 clear goals and them lose by 3 clear goals to reach parity.

Let's be realistic...both Mansfield's games are winnable, and they have a better goal difference, so the pressure is on us. Squeaky bum time definitely this w/e.

of course it isn't!! We are 3 points ahead, the result tuesday makes life uncomfortable as a city fan. But they have too win possibly both, and hope we lose both. so the pressure is still very much on them.

Do you not think Accrington are capable of winning by 2/3? With City on a good day capable of winning by 2 also? 5 goal swing :)
