Another pedestrian performance, with the “looking tired “ statement coming from Frank .
We need something different, a proper hold up player & he’s here , being involved in everything we do at Ryton , up to fitness , so come on Doug or Frank , just sign him up until the end of the season …… you know it makes sense ?

Can someone tell Jamie that his dad's had a few and has started posting things on the internet?

There's a reason he's out of contract and unattached to any club. 🤔

If he’s good enough I’m sure he’ll be signed until the end of the season. Why wouldn’t he be, unless we’re strapped for cash.

Wouldn't push the boat out but if he can help in even just a couple of games between now and the end of the season then why not. Could be the difference we need if we get injuries or run out of steam. We'll down the pecking order, but the lads say he's good around the place and I'd rather him filling a place on the bench than one of the kids right now.

We've just won and saw one of three big players make their first appearance of the calendar year. Not sure it was screaming out for Patterson.

People say he's great to have around the training ground and dressing room but that's not enough of a reason to sign him as we're getting the benefit of that right now for free. Surely we should only sign him if he would improve the match day squad and actually help us. Personally I think it would be worth signing him on a short term deal providing he doesn't want too much money. Last year we ran out of steam with the FA Cup exploits and yes I know we don't have that to consider now for this season but his experience could prove key in a few games.

Ultimately he has two choices, sign with us on less than he'd ideally want and have some money coming in for a few months or sit unattached and have nothing coming in.

Should be begging to play for free for his home town club with the play offs in sight.

I would…

Which is why he is a professional footballer and you are not

FFS posts like this do my head in and Frank is totally correct in what he said. We'd played 3 games in 7 days, 2 of which against Premiership quality. QPR had not played since the 4th Feb.

I’m not sure what he’s doing tbh. I’m sure the contract is there if he wants it, maybe not the ideal wage or length he wants. But given we are one of the form teams in the league and it’s mid feb already surely at this point it makes sense to take whatever we’re offering?

At worst he will spend 3 months training with a good championship side and potentially has the chance to make a difference and play in some big games.
